thepride.boards.netIn the profile area can "Registered Name" "Email Address" be moved out of "Personal" & placed into the "Staff Options" as email addresses are being returned I think most admins would agree that whilst it is of benefit to admins, you've stated before that you wanted emails to be hidden well this would give us allthe best of both worlds.

You won't be able to edit email addresses on accounts, only view what they are. We don't allow admin's to change email addresses because you could just change it to your own address and take over a different user's account. A user can always change their own email address.

Patrick As the forum is the property of the admin (Hosted by Proboards) I can't see why the admis shouldn't have the right to change email addresses or passwords for their members, I would hate to think there are admins that would do as you suggest.
However if edit facility is not permitted I still believe it better to have the email address in the "Staff Options" area.
Kind regards Moda

Kind regards Moda We are updating our code so that you can view the email address. A user can change their email address at any time without any intervention from the forum administrator. We did previously (many years ago) allow admins to change their member's email addresses, and the system was abused. So, it was removed.

I'm all for admins ability to see the email address in case any further checks are required (spammers, abusive, general PITAs, etc). I certainly wouldn't be in favour of anyone being able to view anybody else's password bearing in mind that millions of internet users have one email and one password they use everywhere online - that could be more abusive and worse than the African email scams. As for allowing the option of changing another members email and passwords...... words fail me.
