My co-admin is struggling a little with the new board.
A few glitches in the forum, no doubt they will get sorted out.....
Here are a few:
I am signed in , go to post and it tells me to sign in again.
New post are not showing up straight away, coming on about 15 minutes after the post has been made.
I have my own theory but I'd like to hear yours first.
Also our newsfeed includes a link to our website that does not work. the old one was fine.

Hi, sceadugenga1. It sounds like their browser is discarding cookies, as well as keeping old pages cached. Do you know which browser they're using?

OK, I'll get back to you about that but what about the link issue? I want to add a website link to the newsfeed like I could with the V4. I've tried adding it to the headers and footers but it's as dead as a dodo there as well.
What's a global header? where does that appear?

The link may need to be surrounded by BBCode to work if you're putting it in V5's news feed.
The Global Header appears in the header area of every page on your forum. So if I were to place Hello in the global header here on ProBoards Support it would show up above this thread in the same place the open beta links currently are, and in the same relative position on every other page of the forum.

No, I can't do any of it, don't worry about it I'll look around for some help.
I suspect I'm like a lot of people with their own little forums, they know their field and can write a bit but their IT skills are zero.

The headers and footers need to use HTML. BBCode is for posts and certain other parts of the forum.
You'll want to do the following to insert a link into the headers and footers:

Hi Brian sorry to jump into this thread, but I am at my wits end with one of my Administrators problems. I was casting around for inspiration, when I saw in the opening post : This is happening to him on an irregular basis in Firefox. It can also happen to him when he is switching from one page to another, also on an irregular basis. I have changed to Firefox to see if I can replicate it, but I can't. For a start I use Macs and he uses PCs. My hunch was cookies, as you suggested, but why and what to do about it? Again sorry to jump in here, but there does seem to be a common theme.

You should create your own thread for this. I'm already dealing with two separate problems with this user in this thread alone.
