It's because your buttons are outside of the mini-profile. Put the buttons above the last </div> in the template

Hey shorty, I think I have the buttons, etc where I wanted them, but I must be missing one last thing. I named my buttons exalt/smite but when i click them nothing happens. I think I'm right on the verge of success but no cigar yet. Would you mind if I posted the mini-profile and the profile/summary to see if you can tell whats wrong?

Shorty, we're grateful for the work you did making this plugin for us, and dont mean to come across as complaining.
We really appreciate your time.

But I'm a little confused now.
I know of three forums who are having the problem where the exalt/smite only appears once in a while.
This started happening after the plugin had worked correctly for a month or two.
What I read was that you would correct this, but not for a couple months.
So we've all been waiting for the corrected plug in.
The version we have is 1.1.6
Our understanding was there were newer versions offered, but word was they worked less well than the one we have,
 so we've stuck with what we've got because at least it appears once in a while, instead of not at all.

Alright, so has that corrected version been offered?

or do we still need to wait?

EDIT: Okay I downloaded version 1.2.2 from the plug in library.
And I made note of the instructions.
Is this the promised fixed version?

ALSO: if I delete the older version - but not the data - will the numbers still be there when I install the new version?

Yes that is the newest fix. And it works if you do the template mod correctly. And yes if you delete the older version but not the data the numbers will still be there.

hey shorty, I have a single member out of 95 who says he can see the Karma buttons, but they do not change the Karma numbers. All he gets is the timeout message. Any idea how only one user could be affected? he reports that same problem with IE on a desktop and Safari on an ipad

That's what the member is reporting. I'm curious to find out if he gets the timeout message from the first karma attempt at the start of his posting day, or if he tries to give karma, fails, and gets the timeout message the NEXT time he tries. So far I haven't heard a singe other complaint. Forum is www.aibafs.com

Well find out about when it happens, and let me know.

I looked in the permissions settings and "read" was set to "members and staff" and "write" was set to "staff".  maybe that would explain why I could give karma and members could not?  I did not change any settings unless I hit something by accident.

Yeah, you need to set the write to members and staff.
