Why So Dark?

No doubt  Mother Night, as do so many others here, so that was part of my original question...why are so many Proboard users so dark? Are they unhappy, evil, young, depressed, whats up with the violence, darkness, and devil avatars. I was a teenager when I started here, as I'm sure a lot of members currently are now.

If you're looking for someone to work on a theme that they could export for you as a plugin so that you could import it, I suggest asking in the theme database and see if someone will help you get a prettified theme that you want. There's a woman, Mamagail I think she's called, seems to enjoy making themes for others and some of hers I reckon would suit you. I suggest asking about and you might find you get something that really suits.

I change the default skins regularly for guests. 

Boards are as individual as each of our members are.

Black boards are actually the ones that are very difficult on my eyes.

We go from "Pretty in Pink" to "Flannel Suit" to "Hints of Spring" to "Black Inferno" and everywhere in between!

You know, that is a good idea. I've been looking around at the few who do have flowers in their themes. And flowers would be perfect to go along with my default theme. I think I might just go do some work on my main page. It's been a few years and about time. Thanks for the inspiration.

I have probably 30+ themes. Some are light/neutral, a couple are darker, some are definitely feminine, and some definitely masculine. I don't have any that are all white, and only one that is black - but that is for Halloween, so currently disabled. I want everyone to feel like there's something that 'fits' them. I haven't shared any here, just because I tend to keep my themes pretty simple, so I think most may find them boring.

Thank you, skidjit.  I'm glad you found inspiration. All of my themes are very diversified as my "real" forum is a very diversified group. And I get bored easily!   When I am, I create.

If you'd like a look around, feel free to join. The board is for my members who want to get acquainted with v5 before we make the move, but I've let others in for a peek. I've been inspired by others here ~ and it's nice to give back.

I might just do that. Thanks for the invite. By the way, if I do join, I'll use this same sn. Right now, I'm going to do a major experiment and attempt to create a new skin for the first time in v5. It's just a matter of figuring out the controls, so it might be a while before I make it over there. Thanks.

ps. Oh and I already added a brand new field of sunflowers with a bright sunny sky as a background to my Lovegood Lounge front page. It already brings a breath of fresh air to things. Again, thanks for the inspiration.

I've found you can be much more creative in designing themes in v5. My floral theme was found in my own back yard. A simple photo I took became my inspiration and background.

I personally just love black, I think it is classy and makes what colors we do use "pop".

 I am not a rainbow's and butterflies type person, but I also don't like Devil's and creepy things either.
