Main navigation in a sidebar

Hi Brian,
I hope you can help answer my question. I've essentially followed the direction of other members but now i wish to remove the main navigation bar much like the OP seems to have been able to.
How might this be possible?
Additionally is it possible to have the notification bubbles appear in the "messages" button on the sidebar when its all in place?

Structure > Layout Templates > Forum Wrapper

Removing this section of the code will remove the regular buttons from the navigation bar.

One final query; Is it possible to have the private message notification bubble appear in the sidebar "messages" tab? I feel that my users will not know when they receive PMs otherwise.

Yeah.

Just add on to this line of CSS at the end of my other post.

Adding this line in red to the layout template portion should add a number next to any menu items with new notifications. Unfortunately, it's not possible to add the actual bubbles without a bit of CSS modification.
