Greetings,
The "new" on any thread will take you to the latest post you haven't read yet. Is this the function you are looking for?

So you have to click on the "new?" Haven't tried that. Used to just clicking on the thread title section. Thanks.

This was the latest thread I could find on this topic, but let me know if there is another, or if I need to start another.
The NEW button feature is working well for me, and some of my members, but not all of them. For some, clicking on the button always takes to the first page of the thread.
Do you think this could be browser related? Are there known issues with some browsers?
Thanks.

I edited the templates to avoid having to click on the tiny NEW icon, and to avoid having to explain to people that the tiny icon isn't just a label.
In the Admin -> Themes - > Layout templates section, find your template, go to the Board section, find the Thread List template.
Change the line that says
<span class="link target">$[thread]</span>
to
<span class="link target">$[thread.recent_link]</span>
Line 11 in the default template.

But maybe that member is missing the image and clicking the cell behind it, or they have never previously accessed that thread, so the first page is the right destination?

leo, the reason you experience being taken to a different area on your member account is because the two accounts are separate, and the data for the last post your admin account read is different from that of your member account. The system should keep track of the posts you read on a per-account basis. The link for the last updated topic in the Info Center & Statistics area already brings you to the last read post in that topic, also.

Can't say i've ever personally experienced that. It always takes me to where i request it to.
Could it be that sometimes you are clicking on the cell, and not the link? The cell will still take you to the first page i believe.

It always jumps to the first unread post. So if several posts have been made since you last looked at the thread, it's going to jump to the first of those. Also, if you've recently converted your forum, all posts in your older threads from before conversion are technically new, so if any of those are posted in, you'll be put on the first page the first time you click on the new icon. Viewing the last page of the thread should remedy this for all pre-conversion threads.
