I've tried both the V1.7 from the library and V2.0 from the first post.  I seem to get the pop up with each, but neither one gives me the message on the inbox/message page.

One other functional question (to help me manage my members' expectations)  does the pop up appear when you receive a new PM, or the next time you load a page after receiving a PM?

forum url? it checks if you have any new messages on every page load

i am, i took some robitussin, and feel a decent amount better.

I'm still not getting the reset message anywhere that I can see.

Also, (I thought I noticed this with the old versions and I confirmed it in the current one) Once I get a pop up, it seems the only way I can get another is once I close out my browser and start with a fresh session. Sending a PM and receiving another one doesn't do it for me.

Should it matter if a new PM is in the same PM thread as the last one that triggered a pop up?

Should it matter if the reply was done from the full reply screen or the quick reply window?

Let me know if there's anything I can do to help troubleshoot.

thanks, leadefoote! looks like another JS error on my part, re-download again, this time it should work (*crosses fingers*).

as for your question i'll quote a section from this thread:

Plugin Key Events

We offer a few different event bindings that you can use to change plugin key data when certain actions happen. These events are:

•thread_new - When a thread is created
•post_new - When a post is made
•post_quick_reply - When a post is made using the quick reply
•conversation_new - When a conversation is created
•message_new - When a reply to a conversation is made

Using these events, you can set a plugin key's data only when the event listed has occurred.

the last two ones in RED, are what i use in the plugin.
