Poor Wormo has to go back to noodling on the drawing board again.

So if the data settings saved, yet the key ones did not, what ultimately was saved/lost? I was trying to keep up with what was being said here but then I got lost once again.

Was the plugin going to be pushed back to the 1.5 version before the 1.6 "reset" everything? Was the data stored but unrecoverable despite having the same name's set?

I dont know if the data still exists. I had HOPED that maybe re-installing 1.5 would bring it back. I wasnt positive it would. you would need to PM Tim to see if he might be able to get you a previous version anyways since I didnt locally save 1.5 like I thought I did.

he is currently working on a solution to preserve data between updates. I remember like Eton that it once did, but it stopped when default plugin data was added.

All of my "alters" avatars are automatically resizing to 113px wide. When not posting as an alter, the avatars are fine (150px). I can't figure it out. XD Here is a link where the resizing can be seen:

I don't think it has to do with the forum width, since as I said, the avatars work fine when not being posted with an alter.

^ So you can see it isn't only the one character.  That second character had previously worked fine.

you know... I just found the error... and what is funny is that error has been there since version 1.0 and no one ever noticed it before...

I can fix it, but I will just say if you switch the 150 and 200 that you have stored for width/height it will correct itself. if I fix it and post a new version, you currently run the risk of losing your alter data until Tim finishes his project. I would suggest just switching the number for now. after I post the next version, you can switch them back.

No. I noticed it the day before yesterday. Since most of my alters have smaller images, I had not noticed it earlier. The one that I noticed was not sizing properly, yesterday I kept trying to resize it thinking it might have been something I was doing wrong on my part. Especially since it was only for my one avatar alter. But it would not stick even when I changed the setting on the plugin to allow for the larger size. I was going to post in here about this but today has been very busy for me that I didn't have the time. So now I know it's not something from my end that I need to figure out.

Still, one question, is there a max size limit that the site or either the plugin will not pass?

I'll still wait until all of the tinkering is done, before I update. Thanks riddlekins for posting, and Wormopolis for catching how this is being done.

when you put in those number to the plugin, it just sets up some CSS (max-width and max-height) on the image itself. if you leave those numbers blank, I think the forum default will kick in.

I literally did this:

var maxwidth=plugin.settings.maxheight
var maxheight=plugin.settings.maxwidth

and I have no idea why...

Off hand, what might that forum default size be? I just looked to see if I had a setting to choose on the forum settings page and could not find it. At least this way, I can make sure ALL of my avatars, either regular or for the alters will fit those parameters.

I have one question for you. Is there a limit to how many alters you can set up? We set up a bunch and some didn't appear until we deleted some.

well the plugin itself has a max.. but Im not sure what it is. it can only hold so much data. Tim Camara might know.
