community Alters was asked for in previous posts, i just havent found a clean way of doing it.

Is there a way for each member to create their OWN alter?

There isnt enough room for members to store their own alters. its been suggested to make a character application with all the fields, and when its accepted, just copy paste the information over into the character fields. the way alters are stored to the posts comes into play as well, and if a member had control they would be changing things like the name and it would unlink to all previous posts. username was a recent field tat was added so you can pick a username on creation and never change it. current version allows you to change display name after creation.

additionally, this plugin would require TWO keys in order to function including the golden superuser key that gets coveted by any other plugin needing to use it.

Very simply put, this isn't working for some reason. At all. I get the option to select an alter, the tab on my profile is there, but it does absolutely nothing, the miniprofile is completely unchanged.

can you link me to a post? a mini profile wont be changed unless the key is set.

well that is discouraging.. I missed one of the extended data lines.

or if you want to use it in the meantime, grab the alters extension plugin from the library. alters is looking for a variable in THAT plugin. once you get 1.6.3 you wont need it anymore unless you want it for later to add more alters in.

My Alters for my site wonderfulrp.boards.net aren't working. The username appears in the overview but the normal profiles are in the actual post. Basically, I'm having the same problem that Ace of Charts was having with Alters 1.5 back in July, but since I'm using Alters 1.6.3, I don't know what php variable I might need to alter to get the same positive results. Any idea on why this is happening?

the addition of the username caused a bug in the dropdowns somehow.. but strangely, though I fixed it, I somehow opened a previous version when I fixed the alters extension problem.

Okay so I have multiple alters for a single user (Small site) the first Alter assigned to a user works but the rest don't. I've enabled this to be viewed by guests now:http://wonderfulrp.boards.net/thread/24/use-alters?page=3&scrollTo=126

the username field isnt for putting the username of the person that will be using it. its to give the alter a unique name. no alter should have the same unique name as another.
