Style Tag Plugin v2.3.1 [support thread]

I came here with the exact same problem I see others have recently reported--some pages, even ones that do not use [attr] tagging, will either load slowly or not at all (eventually having to be killed).

Is there no solution other than removing the plug-in?

Is there a link that I could see that has this issue happening? I can't help by speculating wildly.

I'm not sure where to put this. I couldn't find a support thread dedicated to the Style Tag plug-in.

On the site linked, we have had loading issues with certain pages involving a lot of coding, such as this page. It will stay frozen while it loads, but it will eventually load. In more extreme cases, some pages will stay frozen completely until the browser prompts members to Kill the page. This page is one example, but the creator of the thread might have removed some of the issues by the time someone can help.

Playing around first with coding by creating a bare bones skin and then second by disabling certain plug-ins, I have determined that the problem is uniquely related to the Style Tag plug-in. Style Tag plug-in allows the site to use certain coding that is in fact used in the thread I linked first (this page) but not the second thread that I linked (this page). Whether the problem is the Style Tag plug-in in conjunction with other coding or not, I have been unable to determine; however, when I disabled the plug-in, no one at all experienced any loading issues with either page linked.

Members reported having problems in Chrome, Firefox, and Internet Explorer, while one member reported having no problems in Safari. Many members would have to re-code a lot of their own personal stuff if we were to disable the Style Tag plug-in completely (and the staff would need to re-code some of the sitewide things as well), so is there a way to fix this problem without disabling the Plug-In?

Edit: I've used it/seen it used on many other sites without any problems, which is why I'm hoping there's a solution that involves not disabling it!

Hi. I'm trying to use your code tag remodel to add some extra ubbc tags (sorta like [post][/post] on jcink). It works, however, it messes up the code tag because it converts the tags to html and displays them instead of making them show up like ubbc. I've tried pretty much everything I can think of but it won't show right so I'm probably missing something here orz

edit: [nospaces] seems to affect the ability of the content to go into [code] blocks

For one, I would be editing the Style Tag code to add new ubbc, not this code tag remodel. The Style Tag code actually does the preventing of the ubbc from being parsed, so that would be more helpful for you.

I would if I could figure out how. I'm not really an experienced coder beyond html/css and basic javascript. If you could write a quick walk through of what to edit, that would help immensely, but I understand you're probably busy with your own things. Otherwise, I'll just send a note out to my members.

The plugin is in the Proboards Plugin Directory, so you can install it from your admin panel.

This plugin does not display changes in the preview. Post it to see the real template while in the BB Code tab.

This plugin does not display changes in the preview. Post it to see the real template while in the BB Code tab.

That's where the issue persists. Once I post it, it shows up without the backgrounds and images of the original template. It looks exactly like this: animatedhigh.boards.net/thread/20/official-class-schedules
But it should look like this: adoxographyv2.boards.net/thread/3611/little-talks

Hi, with the latest release of v2.2.0, you might experience better loading times. Look for the new version to be coming to the Plugin Library this week when it gets approved by the PB staff!
EDIT: I posted the new version as a PB plugin file to be downloaded and uploaded manually for those who do not want to wait for the library to accept the new version.
