<Snip>
I "had" a coder helping me with stuff on the site till about a month ago when they lost their net (or something to that extent.) They were the ones that were writing all the stuff above the tabbed part in the forum wrapper template. I have no idea what some of it is (besides the toast) and so I have no idea what set interval calls are being done, or really what any of that is.
I have expressed quite a few times that I really don't code. I pick through things and do what I can but there is absolutely nothing that I can do/write on my own without really just...modifying something that already exists. So for all this funky stuff you are seeing/talking about I am totally clueless about. I can try to understand it, but from what I am figuring you are saying that the site loads weird every few seconds? Or when it is initially opened? Due to some thing(s) running/causing it to do that?
That is about as much sense as I got out of that...
OTL.

OK Tohsaka Rin, I guess I am somewhat different than you because if I am doing something incorrectly I gladly welcome an explanation of how it is incorrect and which way should it be done. I've actually gotten offended if I am told "how" to do something without an explanation of "why" it is done that way and maybe even some background on "what" it is. Even if you're not interested in an explanation the possibility that someone coming along in this public forum and reading the thread would be interested in the explanation is what has kept me explaining so I am somewhat taken aback with the general hostility by some (not you personally) toward information in an era ironically dubbed the "Information Age". Facts and reasoning do matter, without them there is no progress. I'll paraphrase the philosopher Santayana who basically said, "Those who do not learn from their mistakes are doomed to repeat it" "It is the question that drives us, Neo..." Anyway move that </head> down so it is directly above the <body onload="updateClock(); setInterval('updateClock()', 1000 )" >. ... or move the body up, either way they need to be nevermind

I put </head> above this part: </head><body onload="updateClock(); setInterval('updateClock()', 1000 )" > </head> flags as red as shown above. Is this an issue? Is this not to happen? Oh, and </html> flags as red at the very end of the page code also. If that is relevant in any way.

Okay, I reverted it back after someone changed it. For now I limited access so no one can change those files but me. Someone on my end must have looked at it or tried to do something - which is strange because the guy that usually works with me on it was gone.
^Oo^ Script tags removed from the js file.
What next? Was the </header> in the right place now? Does having it and the </html> at the end flagged red in the template code box mean that something is still up with it? Seems that after re-loading the page it no longer flags as red. I just hope it is in the right place.
Update: The links at the first post to reflect the right site now; sorry if that confused anyone at the start.

The code should be working at this point, did you test whether you can select a tab on any profile in a multi-profile page and not have it affect any other profile?
Don't worry about the red </html>, I can only assume it's a bug in the syntax highlighter of the codeMirror code that Proboards uses since it is in every wrapper I see.

Okay, so after refreshing that js code on the server, and checking the forum wrapper, it still does not seem to want to let me select tabs. It has been tested on a thread which has only one post [Here]It has been tested on a thread which has multiple posts [Here]Both of these threads shall now be used as the examples on the first post as well. When selecting between the two tabs it only refreshes the page.

Fire fox. Hahahahaha, What browser are you using? Seems like lately FF has been messing up for people. I actually stopped using Chrome/Chromium because it kept messing up for me. Maybe I will go back to it!

Do the CTRL+SHIFT+K key combo and select console at the top if not already selected then make sure css is off but everything else is on (click one for off and once more for on).
Once you have that setup hold CTRL + F5 to refresh the page and if anything appears in that bottom frame click on it then CTRL+A to select all then CTRL+C to copy then you can paste it here.

Yay it works now!
Okay, so now that the cache has been refreshed (I assume this is what it did) the tabs do work as intended for single and multiple posts.
Was there anything else that we needed to test or check on?

I am new to this so not sure if I am doing this right and i realize this thread is old...but figured I would ask. The mini profile discussed in this thread is amazing, is there anywhere I can find the coding for something like this so I can try and adapt it the site my team runs? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!
