OK but I am still getting the quarantine coming up on everyone's posts including my own. I have done exactly as you have said in entering the members in the top section. If I do this without selecting all boards nothing happens at all, but if I physically select all of the boards then everyone gets quarantined including me.
WormopolisBob K, I took some screen caps to help show you. Each section in the
Quarantine Rules section is a Rule and after finishing one, a new area appears.
These images show you how to target or quarantine a couple of members, on all boards. I am the one that gets to approve the posts.
I'm not sure if there are more recent updates or not, but I am using Version 1.1.5 Beta. So, make sure that you are using at least this version. You can find the version under the About tab.
Key settings should show Everyone in both areas.
Top part of ALL the boards/forums on my Forum. Notice at the top I have three individuals that I want to Review/quarantine their posts. Leave the post count empty so that all of their posts get quarantined.
This is just a continuation of the list of boards/forums that I want to quarantine those people on.
This shows the end of the list of boards/forums that the three people are being quarantined on. I hit the ALL boards. You can see that I am the person allowed to approve the posts. You can add others, but I don't have it set up that way.
That is how you set it up to quarantine just a few individuals on all boards.
I also have a second Rule set up, that is like this. This second Rule will quarantine the first 5 posts made by new members and or members with less than 5 posts.
Again, I selected ALL boards/forums. I'm just showing a few, because I have so many.
Again, I am the one that gets to approve these quarantines.
I also have a third Rule set up. This was set up mostly to test the Manual Quarantine.
All posters are affected, so leave the members area alone. NOTICE the -1. Again, I have selected All boards/forums.
Once again, I am the one that approves posts. Notice I have three people listed in the Manual Quarantine section. They are my Global Mod and two Moderators. This setup allows my Global Mod and Moderators to manually quarantine a post. Rather than just hit report for a bad or questionable post, that allows everyone to see it as it remains there until dealt with. The Manual Quarantine hides the post until it can be looked at and approved.
Sometimes, even long time members can get into heated arguments and post something that they shouldn't.
A 4th Rule that I have set up will Quarantine your Guests posts. Since they are not members it will quarantine all of their posts. Guests have a -1 post count. I do not allow Guests to post for one reason. All guests would be listed as 'guest'. No differentiating them. I don't want members coming in as guests and attacking others in stealth. This way you can have open registration, yet protect your site from someone crapping in the punch bowl, and it catches spammers. You can set it higher or lower as needed. Leave the members area alone. Set the Post count to Zero.
Then hit save. That will Quarantine guests.
Now, there is one more type of Rule that you can set up. I don't have screen caps for it as I tested it then took it out. But, hopefully you feel comfortable enough with these images and explanations that I can tell you about it. If you need or want caps let me know.
The fourth type of Rule is in the General Settings area and allows for the OP or thread starter to be able to quarantine posts. You would setup the board/forum that this would be allowed. Then in the Manual Quarantine section, select the member that would have control over the quarantine. Admin always has approval.
When you have things set to what you want, hit the save button.
I have a forum that can be quite contentious at times and some individuals do not play well together when it comes to politics or religion. And this is where this Rule would come in handy. But, I tested it as a just in case because I knew if I implemented it for one person, it was going to cause an explosion all over the rest of the site, because the main individual would take the issue to all the other boards. Some adults just cannot let things go.
In my opinion, this plug in is a very powerful tool and the Admin's best friend. I know this is more than you asked for, but I wanted you to see how useful, powerful and versatile this plug in really is!
