Gold Shop [discontinued]

and now that I put that up, perhaps contributed something here, perhaps maybe you or someone else, anyone can help me with one other thing...?...

I am trying to figure out how to get the items that a registered user purchases in my Gold Shop to show up in their "mini-profile" {the one that shows up when a registered user makes a post is what I mean}.

??

am clawing at it for days now and can't figure it out

suspect the procedure is similar to the one Peter Posted in the short tutorial video regarding the monetary system at the start of it's support thread and getting things to show up properly in the registered user's main "Profile" but applying this to the mini profile situation is getting quite complicated and it seems I cannot find the proper info anywhere !!!

any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated and it seems to me this would be the entire point of the shop, the fun is in seeing the items each registered user purchased show up in their description {mini-profile} with that same picture/item, if you will, showing up whenever the registered user in question posts !!!

At the moment it does not show up in mini profile. I think Texas said it will be in a future update but i do not know when that is.

I Must say, Peter {Texas}, for what it's worth, did a Fantastic Job on this thing !

That said, I think this particular feature we're discussing would put it "over the top" as far as all other plug ins go !!!

It really would have such a Major impact on the "Impression" it makes upon the viewer IMHO...and I am sure Peter {Texas} has already realized this as well...I wish him luck...I know it would please my members{registered users} to NO end !!!

Hi Texas. This plugin is easily exploitable as the values are loaded client-side, and my members have found several ways of purchasing items for free by using the Chrome developer console.

Hey, I'm having a problem with the Shop in that none of the items are showing up on the shop itself. The categories are showing up, and I've made sure to assign each item to a category, but on the Global shop page none of the items (their picture, name or description) are showing up.

Also, I had a question I hadn't seen yet on the board, so pardon me if it's already been answered. This is obviously a role playing forum, and we have it set up by one-character-per-account. I was wondering if there was anyway for the player to be able to pay using linked accounts or would they have to PM an admin? Or is there a way to set it so that the admins have to accept a shop purchase request, instead of them buying outright?

There's not much I can do about this. It's one of the problems with javascript. No matter how "secure" you try and make it there's no way to keep people from exploiting your work client side. The users have to be able to access the set and get functions of the key, if they cant, then they cant buy anything. So there's really nothing I can do about it. If I were you I'd set up a rule, if someone gets caught "cheating" they get punished. Besides that and the honor system, I may be able to set up something that makes it a little harder, but that would be the extent of what I could do.

1) I'll look into it Are you on the newest version?

2) Umm, I guess sharing accounts is a possibility I can look into. But I can't promise anything. As for admins accepting the bought items, it'd be hard, and not a very reliable system as there's really no "easy" way to let the admins know there is an transaction waiting to be approved.

Hey again Texas! Sorry to barge in with more issues, but for some reason I'm unable to give and take items to/from new members. I still have the options for all previous members, but for some reason the two newest members are giving me issues, and not allowing me to do so. Well, not the members, but the plugin. So basically when a new member joins, I give them two free items, so I go to the shop, purchase these two items, go to their profile, and give them the items. For some reason the buttons that say "Give Item" and "Remove Item" are not there on new accounts...

Crayon was the first person this happened to, and it's the same for all new members since. He/She joined August 9th.
I should probably mention that I have not yet upgraded monetary system, but I don't see why that would cause a problem as it all worked before. I have the latest gold shop, and I believe it was after I updated it that this happened... I have updated yootil plugin.

Everyone needs to update there yootil. Proboards doesn't allow remotely hosted files anymore, so you need to yootil to the newest version for it to work.

Before I look into anything, just want to make sure you on the newest version, please compare your shop version with the one on the pro boards library. Meanwhile I see what I can do.

Oh, I thought I was. Sorry about that!
However I am a little confused as to how to update the shop... I just don't understand how to run the piece of script through a console, and when I put it in my address bar and hit enter, it just comes up with a search result... I'm on a mac. Could you please just explain this to me a little more? Thanks!
