Interesting situation... Admin is AWOL...

I'm a regular member of a proboards forum and most of the moderating staff, including the big boss himself (or herself?) went AWOL a while ago...

Obviously, this means we can't do anything like create forums, ban bad members, or whatever else.

Is there anything that can be done? I think someone tried contacting the guy a while ago...

Hello, fanofe2   Sadly, without the original owner/admin, ProBoards can't do anything. Can someone try contacting him/her again?

If they aren't interested in running the board, perhaps they would be willing to do a formal transfer of power to a member willing to step into that position. ProBoards can help with that. 

Barring that, if there's enough interest, you can gather those members and direct them to a board you or another forum member creates. Anyone of you can do that.

I know that's not the answer you were hoping for.  Sorry.

Hi fanofe2, unfortunately I can only confirm what Luv stated. There is nothing that we can do without the consent of the forum creator/admin. If you were able to get ahold of them and have them post here briefly we would be able to do a transfer of ownership from the admin account holder to another member of the forum. Beyond that I'm afraid there isn't anything we can do.

Reading your link. There are 4 of you, who are able and capable of starting your own forum.

It only needs one of you to take responsibility and the rest can help by moderating!

We did this, due to an admin who never showed up, and was not interested.

Never looked back !
