Tabbed and Presto Codes

Wormopolis,

I tried putting the [presto] code into your tabbed code and the presto would not register. I just thought I'd let you know and maybe you can make them compatible.

I doubt it. tabbed table definately strips off events from objects like presto. you can see if running presto second will work, since the events for the tabs are hard-coded. but if that doesnt work I got nothin. I HAVE to write to innerHTML because I need to remove the inline stuff.

So there is no way you could do it without having to write something entirely different? I guess I can live with that... as long as you fix the tabbed tables.

the only way to write it different would be to force all presto boxes and tabbed tables to be at the bottom of the post instead of where the tags were in the message itself. which means you wouldnt be able to even put a presto box into the tabbed table because everything would have to be isolated.

when you write directly to the innerHTML, it strips the event binding. tabbed table has hard-coded event binding though, so it would survive better, but presto does not. presto is dynamic binding because the div it creates has jquery effects on the hover. the effects cannot be hardcoded, or they would only work for IE and no other browser. unless you want that?

because someone might suggest this next, let me head it off at the pass:

I cant either just insert a placeholder into the post and THEN use DOM to insert into it because the act of writing to the innerHTML in order to substitute in the place holder would strip the event bind off any objects that had already been inserted. so lets say you had some other code that had already inserted stuff at the top of the post. as soon as tabbed table or presto runs it gets stripped*. ANY code that substitutes something into the html directly is going to affect anything that has already been inserted.

*unless that something has hardcoded event binding.

Well, I want the presto inside one of the tabs and it didn't work.
