Michael, you were probably already aware of this last week, but just in case, it's the iframes (well, what's in them), and not just Proboard iframes, so I don't think it's specific to advertisement code. On xmenagerie.proboards.com, I blocked s.ytimg.com and the problem went away every time. So then I deleted the iframe node that contains the YouTube video and the problem instantly goes away. So it's not necessarily the iframe that contains Proboard ads, but also other iframes. Very strange. On livingintheshadows2.proboards.com, deleting the iframe fixes the issue as well, in this case a Proboard ad iframe. Fixes thedarknesswithin.boards.net as well. Wish I could find the real issue, but I have to go back to class.

Jordan - You're very much on the right track. We basically have narrowed down the issue to being webkit/Chrome related. The latest version of Flash in Chrome (and Safari too) is not actually the latest version of Flash. Unfortunately, this means that you cannot update them manually outside of a browser update (because of how they're integrated into the browser). Disabling Flash in your browser fixes the problem, but with the obvious drawback of not having Flash at all. The current possible solutions are: - Disable Flash in Chrome/Safari.
- Use a different browser until Chrome/Safari is updated with the latest version of Flash.

Interesting, Michael & Jordan. I will be sending out a message to my members to give them the mentioned solutions. It is true that I have only been encountering the problem in Chrome and not in Firefox, for example. Safari is super janky and weird anyways.. So, why was it though that taking away the ads made the issue better, even if it didn't eliminate it fully?

So, why was it though that taking away the ads made the issue better, even if it didn't eliminate it fully? A lot of our ads are Flash based, even if they don't have any moving elements. When I removed ads from your forum, Flash never loaded, and the page didn't have an error.

That's what I was afraid of. My next guess was going to be webkit/flash, but I didn't have time to look into it further. Hopefully they will get it updated soon. At least my curiousity is finally satisfied.

Michael, I ended up disabling my Adobe Flash Player plugin in the plugin area of Chrome and downloaded the fully updated version of Flash to my Mac instead. Now that the plugin itself is disabled, Chrome is using my downloaded version instead & everything works nicely.

Brilliant N A T, hopefully Google/Apple will update Chrome/Safari soon and this won't be necessary anymore.

...nevermind, it works when I first am loading the page and then, once loaded, it's actually cut off higher up than it was before. >.> I'll keep fiddling with Flash lol

Just letting you guys know, I disabled the Adobe Flash plugin for Chrome and the problem was still there. Are you positive it's the cause of the problem?

Just letting you guys know, I disabled the Adobe Flash plugin for Chrome and the problem was still there. Are you positive it's the cause of the problem? Absolutely positive. Are you sure that you are disabling the Flash component of Chrome, not another plugin? You should be able to find it by typing Chrome:Plugins into your address bar. Make sure you're disabling it here.

I disabled it here and then checked one of the cut-off sites, the xmenagerie.proboards.com, and it still looks like this. =/ That makes me think it isn't just Flash that's the problem but then why would it have worked as a solution for Kat but not me? I'm using the latest version of Google Chrome. Could there be something on my computer causing a similar problem to the Flash problem or something?

Just to make sure your browser data isn't interfering here ₪» ⅀ ƪ Ƒ «₪, can you clear your cache too? Press ctrl+shift+del on your keyboard and " empty the cache", setting the dropdown to "from the beginning of time".

Already, cache cleared, flash disabled... aaand it's still cut off. While it was loading it was correct, the bottom info center area was present, and then once it fully loaded it just vanished again, David Clark. It's not a huge problem for me because the sites I'm always on aren't cut off but it's more just to report that a problem persists in case it's affecting other users and I'm rather nervous that it'll spontaneously happen to my own site and I'll be in trouble. xD

I'm going to guess that whatever issue is causing the cutoff on that forum is different from the one Kat Pierce reported (for example), because I see the cutoff when my flash is disabled as well. Additionally, I don't usually see the cutoff issue at all (not sure why, but I've never been able to so far) but I see it here. Beyond that, the forum is v4, so it could be a far different problem that just produces a similar visual result. If the problem were to occur on your v5 forum, ₪» ⅀ ƪ Ƒ «₪, disabling your flash plugin should work to fix it until the webkit bug is patched by the browser developers.
