Flight of the Prince
a blue & green Harry Potter theme

This is a redo of an old v4 theme I did with Candice a couple of years ago. It's not very fancy, but I have modified a few of the layout templates, and added extra CSS that wasn't in the original theme. It should be fairly simple to use and edit, EVEN IF you are not good with coding! I'll explain more in just a little bit.

Usage Rules:

• Leave the credits. If you want to move it out of the side bar and somewhere else on the theme, that's fine, but the credits must be visible at all times.

• Do not use this theme as a base. You're free to edit it a lot or a little, but it should not be redistributed as a new theme if you start with what I have provided here. If you decide to change the theme into something unrecogniseable, please let me know.

Theme Includes:

• minorly customised mini-profile (including guest MP & custom fields)
• custom google font for title bar text
• justify-aligned default text
• center-aligned default signature alignment.
• removed "Board Name | Threads | Posts | Last Post" bar
• custom CSS with instructions in the CSS sheet
• see this board for post / thread examples.

(please ignore the Header/Footer text files in this download, they are for v4)

CSS Editing:

Even if you are unfamiliar with CSS, I think I've made things simple enough so you can edit things. All custom CSS included with the theme is annotated, stating specifically what each section is for. All custom CSS is located at the bottom of the CSS sheet in your Themes > Advanced Styles & CSS, starting on line 1566. The most you will likely need to do is edit colours, but if you're feeling more adventurous feel free to add or remove CSS stylings.

To replace most of the images on this theme, you can use the theme manager and the theme colors tabs in your admin panel. However, the sidebar images are in the CSS, starting at line 1609.

To replace the titlebar background image, see line 450.

Hmm, well, you said if we had any questions to reply here, so here we go.
I've been, well, editing this theme to match the theme of my site, which is survival horror. The codes and such make it wonderfully easy, or it has been, until this point. You see, I can't seem to figure out how to get rid of this ---> link

The colors to my site are mostly grays, blacks, and reds, and as you may imagine the blue makes it seem incredibly tacky, and with the border I'm not quite sure how it would look.

I also cannot seem to find how to change this ---> link and this

Compared to the rest of the forum, it's quite bright and I just want to see if I'm able to change it. I'm sorry if you feel like I've ruined your theme. :c

I will admit that, well, the theme doesn't entirely look the same. The site is here ---> link

As I said in the OP, I don't care if you edit the theme a lot or a little. If you edit it a lot though, please DO NOT redistribute it as a premade theme. :)

It looks like you edited the board description background stuff already, since mine has a dark border and yours has a light one. You can find it again in Admin > Layout Templates > Board > Board List.

It should look something like this:

For the second Issue, that looks like it's the pagination plugin; if that's the case, go to your admin panel and to the plugin section. Select the pagination plugin and the settings should be there.

The colour you're seeing for "X", that's your display name right? It's red because your links are red. If you want something different, I'd either change all of your links or use the styled member names plugin. Keep in mind if you opt to use the plugin, you will have to manually enter member groups and usernames. There's currently no default way with that plugin to style non-grouped names without using their username.

Also, I meant the purple behind the display name. I wanted to change it's color, or get rid of it completely, but I couldn't find the color code for it. Adding on, how do you change the offline and online colors? That show up underneath your avatar on the forums? It completely slipped my mind to ask you earlier.

Sorry, I just have a quick question. How would I get rid of the inner box on the categories? The part in the categories where the description of the category goes, is what I mean. Or, at the least, how would I change it's color? To elucidate, I mean the bit where it says, "Thank you for viewing this premade template! Please direct all questions [here]. If you use this layout, be sure to rate it!". Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, please note: I do not have a lot of coding experience and have been using Pro-boards visual editor for editing it, myself. I am by no means good at this. XD

Hi there!

In your admin panel, go to Themes > Layout Templates, and select the link on the left that says "board". When the page loads, select the second tab: "board list".

In that second tab, find this (should be about line 20)

If you want all the styling gone entirely, delete everything except "$[board.description]"

If you only want to change the background colour, change what I marked in RED with the appropriate hexadecimal number (you can find hex codes here: color picker).

You can basically change whatever you want to after p style= to change how the board description looks.

Hey! I love your theme! But there's one thing I dislike, and cannot get rid of, how would I get rid of the picture on the far right of the category bar? The one where a finger(I think Voldermort's) is pointing? How can I get rid of it?!

Around line 450 in Admin > Themes > Advanced Styles & CSS > Style Sheet, find this:

Mm, well, the sidebox is the "sidebar redux" plugin which I linked to in the opening post. If you're specifically talking about the contents of each sidebar, I realise belatedly I forgot to include them in the skin (which I will update as soon as my schedule allows). For now, here you go.
