The only thing I can think of, is somehow the page was cached on your browser and it loaded an older version of the key somehow?  doing a ctrl-F5 would have forced the page to get current data from the server in that case, but I was under the impression key data was always served up fresh.  I dont have any other explanation as to how key data could just change like that without user interference.  every time you hit the "I moved" button, it sends the updated EPD string to the key, waits for confirmation back from the AJAX, and then refreshes the page itself.  if the move was correct when the page came back, then the key was stored correctly.  if you came back later and the board was reset to a previous version, either the key data was corrupted or it wasnt fresh.  Tim Camara, are all keys always served updated on a page load or do their values get cached too?

Its one of those "Bigfoot" types of bugs. I only have testimonials of something and not any proof I can see for myself. I dont want to call you a liar because I dont even have proof that it DIDNT happen, and it would just make you mad anyways so why start that fight... If it happens again, dont continue playing until I can look at it, so I can look into the key to see what it looks like. or get a video camera and film bigfoot peeing on a tree or something. then it gets me closer to solving it.

and now I want to watch harry and the hendersons for some reason...

Oh that's fine. Do take your time if you plan on it! The chess plug in is absolutely beautiful. One thing I did sorta wish it had was a way to notify your opponent that you have done a move. I realize we can just post in the topic created to remind them, but if that feature could be added anyways, that be really perfect (unless I am not doing something right?)

yeah notifications are in the works, but it will have to be done with a companion plugin in order to utilize a super user key and not force a super key on people who dont want it. but it will notify just like the quarantine or rank salute plugins do, but hopefully with better results since both members are always on the page in that first post.

Are you thinking of a possible within-game refresh feature too then? Although I think that is going onto literal flash game territory and I feel like that would take up a lot of juice. ;

cant do automatic refreshes. that is against TOS policy.
