Feature Banner With Link on Main Page

I tried to make this work on my main footer but it's not showing up.  I want the main page to say:

FTA's FORUMS OF THE MONTH!
[Banner A Here w/clickable link to site] Then [Banner B Here also clickable to link their site]

How do I make this happen?

Just change your a tags to:
<a href="http://url.com">

And the img tags to:
<img src="http://url.com" />
