The reason I ask is I created a thread approval plugin which prevents people from seeing/posting on threads until the thread has been approved. However, people can just go on to the mobile version and post. If I could still access the thread key that's used, then I could have users put a small snippet of code in the headers/footers that would also hide the page from people on the mobile app.

At that point you should just have them pm you(mobile) or however you're doing it(desktop) and you create the thread yourself, if you're already going through the trouble to approve it. You would have better luck making an auto-thread maker for the admin, so when you "approve" it, it does the work automatically. Thus not having the thread on mobile, and still only having to approve it. I could see a popup working nicely with this scenario. Texas

P̌̓aͧś̀t̀u͒le͆o͂2̀3̃̓...I'm not sure what your suggesting Wormopolis: So key data is not loaded? Your answer is a bit vague when it comes to keys specifically. Do headers/footers work?

Key data is not loaded, neither are headers and footers.

from what I gathered, its a completely different interface. its like if you have two websites that share the same database. the app is purposefully supposed to have minimum coding to make it run faster, while the normal desktop mode loads all the extraneous stuff at the cost of speed. on a small site with minimal coding, you might not notice a difference in speed, but find a site with 40 plugins running, heavy template mods, heavy h/f insertions, and see how fast the site is then.

I would be correct to assume, however, that scripts put in the templates would run?

Your idea: Have threads made, but hidden to users before approval My idea: Make it where they can't make threads. Have a request thread button in place of the create thread That button pms the admin. When the admin approves the thread: It opens a popup to the create thread spot, fills out the fields automatically, and submits Thus it's "LIKE" the admin just approved it, but they actually created it themselves That way it is 100% mobile supported. (except they will have to pm you in mobile mode if they want to make a thread) But that is the closest you will get if you have 0% javascript in mobile mode

So your saying have restricted access to actually making threads. That's not really what I wan't to do, that's too much work for the Admins

The entire forum would just look like it was submitted by the admin.

That's kind of what I was thinking. Theoretically I could "fake" the users profile, but I'm not sure that's what I want to do. Would that even be okay?

Why not just create a private board where everyone has to create threads, then no one can see those threads except staff and OP. then if approved, the thread gets moved to a different board where everyone can see and reply to it.

I didn't know you could move user-created threads after they were created. That would be the perfect solution. If he automates moving them with a popup, it could be a worthy plugin. However you would have to get the plugin user to set up a board where users can post but cannot read.
