Excuse me, I run a roleplay forum and I was wondering if it is possible to somehow collapse already-made NPCs into a list as they are saved? For example, our forum has a lot of NPC profiles acting as characters, but the list to get to the bottom is so damn long (and will only get longer with new character NPC profiles) that I was wondering if it were possible to click their name from a list to have it drop down the information form for editing. (kinda like the Collapsible Categories plugin does for the forum categories). I apologize if that didn't make sense, please let me know if there is anything I can explain better.

sigryn's suggestion sounds like it would be really helpful.
Also, I was wondering if there was a way to make it so individual members can use certain NPCs? I can't seem to figure that one out. It asks what groups can access them, but not which members.

crystalfrost : The way we have managed this on my forum is putting the members to share the NPC in a group, and assigning the group to the NPCs. Our forum creates a group for each member with NPCs, puts them in it, and assigns their NPCs to that group. This way, only members in said groups are allowed to use that/those NPCs. Hope that helps.

Sigyn, I don't get your suggestion at all. crystalfrost, on my test forum I have a hidden group for each NPC. That way I can just add a user to that NPC's group to allow them to use it.

Instead of it displaying each huge area for input for each NPC already, the NPC info would be hidden until it's name is clicked on to edit. It becomes a list... I'm trying to think of how to explain it better. It's basically compacting them once they are made.

You mean inside the plugin settings? Because it's not possible to change how the Plugins pages work in the admin area. Those are all set in stone to ensure that the admin area works properly.

Wouldn't be possible as mentioned in my previous post, Sigyn. Plugin authors can only add/remove tabs and options from their plugins. They can't edit how the plugin manage page itself works.

OK, I have a lot of questions. I'll try to be as clear as I can.
Somehow I can open the "Build" part on this plugin. First of all, is this normal? If the above is normal, than I have a few more questions. I noticed that I can change the permissions myself. It says only the groups are able to access and use the plugin but somehow I can change it to members. This applies to the part in NPC Creation where you can select which groups can use the character. I know the commands in Build tab and I changed these the way I told. It worked fine for a while but now one of my members told me that he can't access the NPC. Why does this happen? In order to get the specific member to use specific NPC what should be the choices in the mentioned areas?
Thanks for creating this plugin and hope it was clear enough.

Somehow I can open the "Build" part on this plugin. First of all, is this normal? Yes, it's normal. All of my plugins are open source so the Build page is always accessible if someone wants to improve upon the plugin by adding their own coding or if they want to modify how it works. If you're changing settings with the Preview & Set Defaults button that doesn't do anything. That only determines what's selected/typed when you first install the plugin (such as the example NPCs the plugin came with). If you want a user to have access to an NPC you'll need to add them to a member group first. Then you'll want to go to Plugins > Manage > NPC Profiles. In the Permissions tab you'll want to change the dropdown below the Plugin Keys heading to either Members & Staff or just add the member's group to the And members in the groups section (the latter is preferable). After that you simply need to add their group to the list of groups that can use the NPC on the NPC List.

Thank you for making the plugin open source It is an honorable act. I know that I should use Save Changes button and I do. What I ask is that I want a specific member to acess to a specific NPC and only that NPC. When I add people to one total group, everybody can access to every NPC and can change each others posts, I don't prefer that. I try to specialize it to members.

You can create a group for just that user. The only tradeoff is that if you want to do this for multiple users you're gonna have a smorgasbord of groups. I suggest simply making one hidden group per NPC. That way if you want someone to have access to a specific NPC you can just add them to the group named after that NPC (users can be in multiple groups).

Hmm, if I can make hidden groups then it won't be a huge problem for me. I enabled one main character and left the NPC count more intentionally. Actually I can do what I told but it only affects me and my character. I don't understand why other members can access their characters. I will try to reorder the NPC Character fields, maybe because I edited the example character this is happening. Thank you for your advice
