First time. Hope I'm in the right place. I am adjusting a theme to my specs. The banner-container had an image space size that is 800px and height is 400 px. My image is 800 width and 250 height. When I uploaded the image into the banner-container area, it fit the width, but I have 150px of background color that I thought would automatically re-adjust when I uploaded the image. It didn't, so I have to adjust the container size. I have made several other successful adjustments to the template so far, but this one baffles me. How do I adjust the height of the banner-container where it will be only 800 x 250 without any extra background color showing? Thanks.

Have you tried going into your admin, then themes, then advanced styles and css, then visual editor, then click on Header, forum banner, banner image. There is a place there to adjust the height. Scroll to the bottom and save afterwards.

Yes, already been there and did that before writing. Just double checked it, on your recommendation. Still has my settings. All that did was adjust my image size, but not the banner-container. It remained the same size, 800 width and 400 height. That is where I'm saying that I get 150px leftover height background color. I wanted to get rid of that by reducing the container size to fit my image size.

Then I'm at a loss, because when I increased that, it had no change on my image size at all, it increased the height of the area where my banner goes, giving it extra room. CheatAreZee, I'm not sure if this is in the right area, but maybe you could help.

Hi dcvfreepress, What's the name of the theme on your forum that you're experiencing this with?

It is from your free themes. Lucid is its name. The banner-container is larger than my image, so I was trying to reduce it.

Thanks! If you want to make the banner container smaller, it looks like for that theme you can do so by visiting your admin panel, then navigate to Themes > Advanced Styles & CSS. Then on the next page click the "Style Sheet" tab. Once there, scroll down to line 1603 and you should see the following starting: .entry1{ position:relative; top:0px; left:0px; width: 800px; height: 400px;Changing the height in this block to 250 should do the trick

The theme they're using is a custom theme which the creator decided to use their own coding for that area, so it wasn't actually tied to the visual editor. Only way it could be changed is by modifying the CSS directly. Otherwise if it was just a normal default theme, the visual editor would have worked fine

Visual Studio? Thats CSS, it wouldn't work in the visual editor if thats what you mean.
