Recently Updated Threads Sidebar (0.4.6)

Did you do "delete plugin" or "delete plugin & data" cuz you want the first one, not the second. Also you want to install the latest version while the older version is still installed, then it will let you import your settings. After it is installed, THEN you can go delete the older version, using the "delete plugin" rather than "& data" option

I thought I imported the data but I guess not. I will remember that for future reference.

I think he means when it gives you an option to update the plugin. When you do that, and you click the right import settings, it will delete the old one and import the settings. Yes, all the threads will be wiped from the sidebar until they are posted in. Thats normal.

Also, for the Ancillary Pages, so far I've noticed it doesn't show up on the Recent Threads page. I know it seems redundant but I'd prefer the redundancy than the random empty sidetable xD
I'll report if I notice it missing anywhere else =)

EDIT: One possible glitch I've noticed is that, while it's loading, the content just floats randomly at the far left of my site, outside the forum wrapper, until it loads and snaps back into place in the sidebar. Is there a coding mishap that perhaps causes it to show up while loading but not be in the targeted location during that time?

Version 0.1.8 stops the cells being displayed before they are moved..

There will now be a slight delay before the cells are displayed unless you are not moving them, but that is unavoidable.

Hi, I just enabled Recently Updated Threads Sidebar along with Sidebar Redux, but it's not displaying properly. If I enable offset, the forum moves partway right off the screen. If I disable offset, the sidebar is half off the screen. I've tried it with the sidebar on left and right, same thing. Is there some other setting I'm missing? lawlessfrench.boards.net/

The problem is with the width of your forum.

You have 2 options.. You can re-install the Sidebar Redux plugin and move the Recent Threads into that, or reduce the width of your forum.

Let me know which you chose and I'll try to help you set it up.

Hi, thanks for responding. The forum is only a few days old, so I have just been using the default set up - I didn't choose for it to be wide. Earlier today I found the visual editor which supposedly allows reducing the width, but even at 50% there was no change.

I'm happy with either solution, whichever you think is best. Thank you!

I personally prefer the look when used with the Sidebar Redux plugin.

If you install that and set it up how you'd like I'll tell you what to add in the this plugin's setting to work with it.

I'll need a link to your forum too.

I guess that's the problem - I already have Sidebar Redux installed, and I don't know how to set it up. I just want it to show up on one side or the other, it doesn't really matter.

I have installed the plugin on the side bar. I put the staff only boards in the restricted area. but it still shows the posts in the recent post box (although no access to them) .  I have switched the plugin off for now. 

can you advise how to set it not to show staff threads in the side bar?thanks

Ahh.. Ok..

I can see the Sidebar Redux plugin..

Now, in the Recent Threads plugin, under the 'Settings' tab, find the 'Container ID' field.. it should be the fifth option down..

Put sidebarr-right in that field and save the changes.. That should be all you need to do.

Refresh the home page and the Recent Threads cell should now be in sidebar redux cell.

Thank you! I did as you suggested, but part of the forum still spilled off the left side of the screen. Then I changed offset to no, and voilà - it looks great. Thanks so much for your help!
