How does the Sidebar Redux plugin distort your forum, and how would you rather it look?

TodgeI'm not sure if this is my error, or just not doable. Is there a possible way to have each link have its own style? Edit to clarify: I guess what I mean is using CSS to stylize links.

This can be done using your forum layout.. In your Layout templates, select 'Forum Wrapper' and insert this just above the '<div id="wrapper">' line (around line 15) <div id="left-sidebar"> left sidebar </div> <div id="right-sidebar"> right sidebar </div> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ var forumWidth = 900; var sidebarWidth = 250; var gap = 25; var fromTop = 100; var sWidth = screen.width/2; var sidebarPos = sWidth-(forumWidth/2)-sidebarWidth-gap; $('#wrapper').css('width', forumWidth); $('#left-sidebar').css({"width":sidebarWidth, "border":"1px solid black", "position":"absolute", "left":sidebarPos, "top":fromTop}); $('#right-sidebar').css({"width":sidebarWidth, "border":"1px solid black", "position":"absolute", "right":sidebarPos, "top":fromTop}); }); </script> Edit it as follows... The red parts are the contents of the two sidebars, you can use standard HTML and/or JS for the contents. The blue number is the width of your forum in pixels. The pink number is the width of the sidebars in pixels. The green number is the gap between your forum and the sidebars. And the purple number is the distance from the top of your forum that the sidebars should be positioned. You will need to add this to each of your layouts, but you can have different settings for each if you wished.

To have up/down arrows in the Recent Threads cell, you need to give it a set height and set the overflow. You can do that in the CSS box in the Settings tab of the plugin. Add this to the CSS box.. #recent-threads-cell { height: 100px; overflow: auto; } And edit the height to suit. To have the Announcements cell below the Recent Threads you will need to use the Extra Cell and set the title to 'Announcements', and make sure that the announcement cell is not set to be displayed. And, if you set the 'Scroll or Static' to 'Scroll', the sidebar will scroll with the page.. To have it hold position while your forum scrolls you need to set it to 'Static'.

There is, but it will take a lot of editing... You will need to add this to the CSS box in the Settings.. #recent-threads-cell>div:nth-child(1)>a { CSS FOR FIRST CELL }
#recent-threads-cell>div:nth-child(2)>a { CSS FOR SECOND CELL }
#recent-threads-cell>div:nth-child(3)>a { CSS FOR THIRD CELL } Continuing with nth-child(4), nth-child(5), nth-child(6) etc.

I'm trying to basically use the Recent Threads plugin (left) and the Sidebar Redux plugin (right). My Recent Threads box is waaaaaaaaaay out of place (half off screen). When I did this to move them about, all I ended up with was four boxes instead of two... I'll admit: I know nada about coding here, but can ya help me out here? lol I'm using a tester forum before I break the one I'm actually wanting to use this on. darkangelstester.boards.net/

The sidebar redux plugin will add sidebars to your forum BELOW your banner. If that's what you want, use that plugin and remove layout addition I posted above, otherwise remove the sidebar redux plugin..
Once you've removed one or the other, come back and I can help you move the Recent Threads cell to the correct location.

You will want to remove the HTML from within the cell in your layout.. Remove the red text in the layout code I gave you.
