Thank you, Todge, I'll do that. I really like this feature, but a fourth side bar and my members will . Incorporating it with Brian's will be perfect.
Enjoy the remainder of your day.

Bump!! Also, is there a way to make it so when you click the link it opens the last visited page instead of the first page on a thread? I realised the issue with truncating the thread names.. Unfortunately, I can't think of any way of doing it other than character count. And I'm afraid not.. The latest read post info is not available from the posting page. Sorry. Hmm. Alright, so what about making the pixel height of the container fluctuate with the amount of material in the container and have an adjustable buffer on the bottom? So that way it would awkwardly cut anything off or have another awkward white space. Is that possible?

In my plugin, click on the 'Settings' tab. A little way down from the top you should find the 'Container ID' option.. That's where you need to put ' RTHere'. That worked, but there is no information showing? purelyvegan.proboards.com/Also, how do I get rid of the box and title? You can remove the cell title by adding this to the CSS box in the plugin.. #recent-threads-title { display: none; } The new threads will be added as people post AFTER the plugin was installed. There's no way of getting the most recently updated threads when the plugin is first activated.

You can make the thread cell vary in height according to the contents by putting this in the CSS box.. #recent-threads-cell { height: auto; } I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean by an adjustable buffer.

Hi, Todge, ~
I really love this and I really would like to add it. But I already have Brian's sidebar redux and peekaboos on both side.
When you say it incorporates nicely with the other sidebars, how can I do that, please? I want it to go under Brian's sidebar on my home page.
I did test it on my board and love how it matches my massive amount of themes, just like the other ones do.
And help would be greatly appreciated. In the Recent Threads plugin, click on the settings tab and find the option 'Container ID'. Add either sidebarr-left or sidebarr-right depending on which side you want it displayed, save the settings and voi-la.. Wow! This was so super easy. You really thought of everything! I would just like it to be higher up in the side bar because it is such a useful container. Are you able to help with this, Todge, or do I need Brian?
And I should apologize. Before asking this question, I checked your OP to see if there were instructions on how to move it up in placement. And duh! There, I saw your perfectly clear instructions on how to incorporate it with Brian's. My bad for not noticing beforehand.
And if I need to target the area, what would I use? .container doesn't seem to work for it. I add some extra border effects on some themes in my style sheet. I've got Brian's and the Peekaboos covered. Now, I need this.
Thank you.

Is there a way to make it display on every page and not just on the home page? Yes, on the settings tab you can check the boards you want it to appear on.

If you put a <div> with a unique ID in the Sidebar Redux plugin, you can then put that ID into this plugin in the Container ID field..

So Todge, I was considering making a little guidebook for editing CSS (just editing text and such) for my staff. I'd need some help, but if you want I could expand it a bit for the plugins use in general. That way it's all in one place and people can look through it instead of a bunch of people asking the same question. Thoughts? Also, how do I change the font size of the text in threads and announcements bar...

If you put a <div> with a unique ID in the Sidebar Redux plugin, you can then put that ID into this plugin in the Container ID field.. This was so simple and it worked. It's now moved up closer to the top instead of stuck at the lowly bottom. The quirk is that Brian's adds a container on top of your container, but in this case, I worked with that. By doing so, the "extras" I do with CSS in the Style Sheet (Forum) are picked up. If I choose not to use Brian's container, yours won't pick up the extra CSS and I would have to style it on those themes where it is implemented. So in a round about way, that works out!
Thank you so much, Todge.

Also, how do I change the font size of the text in threads and announcements bar... I always try to allow CSS editing of the plugins I create, that allows those who use them to style them how they wish and not just a set of options in the plugin. So all you'd need to know to style the plugins is the cell IDs/class' etc., but anything to help stop us from repeating the same solution over and over would be a welcome thing. To change the size of the text in the Announcements Bar, use this... #announcement-title { font-size: 15px; } or if you mean the cell itself.. #announcements-cell { font-size: 15px; }

You can add styling for this plugin directly into your themes if you so wish.. The cell ID names you'd need are.. #RT-parentThe containing cell surrounding the entire sidebar.. (This only applies if you do NOT fill in the Container ID field in the plugin. #RT-MasterAs above, but also applies when sidebar is relocated. #extra-title, #announcement-title & #recent-threads-titleThe title bars of each of the cells. #extra-cell, #announcements-cell & #recent-threads-cellThe information cells themselves. There are also class names that cover all of the cells...RTTitle-BarThis class covers ALL title bars when you select not to have them match your forum styling. .RTCellThis class covers ALL of the information cells when you select not to have them match your forum styling. .rtcell-spacerThe spacer cell, changing the height of this cell will change the space between the cells in the sidebar.

Thank you, Todge. I've put that in a file for future reference.
I just love having the threads visible without having to click on a button. Well done.

Put this in your Global FOOTER.. <div id="RT-parent" style="position: absolute; $[plugin.settings.left_or_right]: 0px; display: none;"> <div id="RT-Master" class="container"> <div class="RTTitle-Bar" id="announcement-title">Announcements</div> <div class="RTCell" id="announcements-cell"></div> <div class="rtcell-spacer"></div> <div class="RTTitle-Bar" id="recent-threads-title">Recent Threads</div> <div class="RTCell" id="recent-threads-cell"></div> </div> </div>
