The plugin works off of whatever's in the actual title attribute within the thread list. If you're seeing that it's because the normal thread preview also has it.

Hey, Brian !

I just found this thread. I am having a little problem with one of my tooltips that I created.

I have this code:

<b><p class="pp_staff">Psychic Psyghtings Advisor</p></b>
<p class="pp_staff_desc">This user is a member of the Psychic Psyghtings Consulting Team.</p>

The class pulls from here:

/* Begin Badge Hover Styles */
.pp_staff {
margin-bottom: 4px !important;
}
.pp_staff_desc {
   width: 200px;
}
/* End Badge Hover Styles *

But instead of doing this (which is what the code tells it to do):



It does this:



...as if the padding on the bottom of the title isn't there and the width isn't taking effect. Granted, the MP for the Consultant isn't a full MP - it's like the Helpful Member checkmark here on PBS - it only shows the diamond and the HTML of the mini-profile is the default HTML of the forum.

I'm not sure how long this hasn't been working or why it's not, as all of my other tooltips are coded the same way and are working correctly.

Alan Vende: None of the CSS that exists on the page matches what you copied into the post.

If it's part of one of your mini-profiles it's only going to render on the page if it's part of that mini-profile's CSS.

The profile is a CMP. I forgot to add it there. Duh. I'll try that and be back.

My plugin does not do this. It only adds the text that you specify.

Is there a way to change specific tooltips to UPPERCASE text? That is, if I don't have a way to change the title directly, is there a way to change how the tooltip displays it?

If you're making those particular tooltips inherit text it's not possible to change the formatting of that text. In any other case you can add HTML and inline CSS to change it.

Some of the tooltips are wrapping too much, making them very tall and skinny. Is there anything we can do to correct this?

Did you specify a maximum width for the tooltips? There shouldn't be anything other than that causing the issue.

If you're still having the issue after checking that setting please provide a link to the forum.

Maximum tooltip width is 200, which I think is more than the way the skinny ones are displaying. The screenshots with the "Member of the Year" and "Nina Devoll" tooltips are displaying correctly.

Okay.

I managed to find the profile shown in your screenshot (since I can't really duplicate the user being online), but when I hover over the same element my tooltip displays at the proper width rather than being squished down. This is the case for me in Firefox, Chrome, and the Mac version of Safari.



I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to figure out why it's happening without being able to duplicate it myself. Do you know if it's happening to anyone other than you when they hover over the same problematic elements?
