Would it be possible to incorporate this highslide.com/#examples into a plug-in to allow my users to use it through BBCodes? SMF and several others already have done this, so it should be all that difficult. I'd sure be will to spring for another SuperKey!

That code was for v4, Proboards v5 comes with its own lightbox code but it is only used on the online library for viewing plugin images. If it could be described in detail how a lightbox is expected to operate within a forum post then it would help.

If it could be described in detail how a lightbox is expected to operate within a forum post then it would help. The way it worked on my old forum was a BBCode mod (plug-in). Here's the link for SMF mod that describes it: custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=2517Actual BBCode for a post would be something like: "[hs width=220 height=200]http://toths.us/PRising/gallery/242_05_08_14_8_36_21.jpeg[/hs]" without the quotation marks on the end. The height and width set the size of the thumbnail produced. Once posted, the post itself shows the thumbnail(s) and then once clicked upon expands to the full-size image in a lightbox. If multiple images, they are shown in a slideshow selectable by small arrows. The box can be closed by clicking anywhere on the image. You can get an idea of several work examples here: highslide.com/

You can get an idea of several work examples here: highslide.com/I wouldn't try to duplicate a specific addon but the general operation of a lightbox no matter the source is pretty much universal, what was in question was how it would operate on the forum post level and since I never saw any working on that level before besides the one I created for V4 I was unsure how it should operate given your experience with using one on another forum. As I mentioned in my previous post, Proboards V5 comes with its own native lightbox image viewer (click this link then click on an image to see the native Proboards lightbox [colorBox] in action) which would be far easier to incorporate into a plugin as opposed to recreating the wheel by using something totally different. The description of clicking on the image to close the lightbox also seems abnormally error prone to me, I would think an image click would do better to advance to the next image in the set of images the way the native Proboards version does it rather than unintentionally close the viewer because of an errant click, perhaps you could elaborate a bit further on that point. As for the implementation details, rather than a dedicated BBCode and the overhead that comes with maintaining such a dedicated BBCode it was simpler in the previous version to just choose which image should be lightbox'd at the time the image is being inserted. The previous code had the ability to also give the images a group name so that all images sharing that name would be considered from the same group and displayed as a set, this way multiple sets could coexist within the same post. One question that still haunts me (never reached a decision) is how would quoting a post that contained lightboxed images behave? Do the quoted images also become lightboxed themselves or are they ignored since they could cause duplicate sets? How did it work on your old forum? Old Preview Images from V4 version:

Let's give this another try.... highslide.com/ <== Let me know if you can see this link. If you can, then click on it and try clicking on some of the demos. That's how it works. Incidentally, the lightbox you use for your Event Calendar would work for me. Can it be put in a BBCode for my users?

I wasn't familiar with HighSlide until you mentioned it and after looking at highslide.com/#examples I can see why you want it! Very slick!

Good news : I just had a play about with this ( the PB's version ) and I might take a look at implementing it into posts. ( I've already got it working in groups of images per post ).
Bad news : It might be a while as I have a couple of other things pending that I want to get finished off and submitted to the library before I move on to something else.

Happy to see at least somebody understood what I was babbling on about Pebble! That looks wonderful and I can't wait to see the final version especially since all you plugins are truly iCandy. If it helps, the other thing I referred to had to do with piggybacking on the [img] tag rather than maintaining a separate bbcode and all the obstacles that would entail. We're all familiar with these obstacles, things such as detecting if your custom bbcode is inside a code/nouubc/noparse tag (impossible for two of the three), ensuring that parsing your bbcode doesn't interfere with other plugins that might have setup certain events (non-delegated) on content in the post (innerHTML would kill those), and so on. This piggybacking I had in mind takes advantage of the fact that proboards allows a font-family style on an image which an image of course would not be using so that could be used to mark images at insertion time as being lightbox eligible as well as optionally being part of a gallery group [img src="http://images.proboards.com/v5/defaultavatar.png" style="font-family: pblightbox, gallery1"]This would then mean 'img[style*=pblightbox]' could be used to identify images for lightbox and ignore images not meant for lightbox without the messy bbcode parsing and images from attachments could be included separately and combined if desired

Nice idea using the img tags. I've got a super busy week ahead so I'll have a think about it before the weekend/coding time. The way I've gone up to now is using the everyday bbcode anchor tag so each thumbnail in the post starts off something like this: [a href="http://i1136./n494/pebbleleague/witch.jpg"]link 1[/a] The thumbnail is created and inserted in the anchor from the href after the check that the anchor href is an image using $('a[href$=".jpg"], a[href$=".png"]')This should mean images can be posted if needed and only links to images would be added to the lightbox. ( I think... ) Groups are made for each post, though your way would mean a member can make a group from several posts if they are on the same page.... which is nice! Or maybe confusing ? I think your way is quicker but my way may be easier/more user friendly. Not really sure.... I'll think about it. And I've just realised how much thinking I've mentioned so I better make a start..... All input and thoughts welcome! PS: Yep, it's just a matter of deciding which way is the best/easiest/fastest !

Help! Chris , I'm hopefully going to get some time this weekend to tidy this up and get it out there for some user testing etc. One thing I wanted to do is add a button to make it clear that you're adding a gallery image ( Basically a clone of the link button with a different image as I think that's the more user friendly way to go for the moment ). Adding the button to the end of the others on the reply page is not a problem, but.... is there a specific way I can add it so that your QR reply buttons plugin will pick it up? I tried it with v0.8.9 but it just looks at my extra button with disgust and ignores it!
