Hundreds of years ago, humanity left Earth for the stars. Eventually, they found a paradise: Eden. And on that paradise were the Juins. In time, the colonization of Eden by humanity lead to a war between humans a Juins. In the end, the Juins lost.Hundreds of years later, Juins are secluded on their own continent and humans make up the majority of Eden's population.
But over the past few years, strange occurrences were noticed all over the world. People were seen flying in the skies. Fights took place between people that could bring down buildings. And at the center of it all is a small number of men and women with amazing abilities. Some of these people want to lead normal lives, and some plot to use the strife to wreck havoc on the world. These people are brought together by circumstance, and those virtuous enough band together, because whether they like it or not, they're Forced Heroes.
Forced Heroes is based on the lore of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z, but it's not a DBZ site in the strictest sense. Sure, there's Dragon Balls--Crystals of Efficacy on the site--that can grant a wish once gathered, and you might see a Saiyan or Namek pop up, but it's also about allowing the players to use the setting to their choosing and take inspiration from all sources. If that means that you have a Naruto inspired ninja character that lives in a village on the outskirts of town, feel free to go for it. If you have ideas for a Shinigami/Soul Reaper type character inspired by Bleach*, go for it. Likewise for people interested in making mage type characters and even regular folks caught up in the shenanigans of saving the world from the latest alien attempting to conquer it.
Like Dragon Ball, the site is just as much about the adventure as it is about the fights, which is why we have no official power levels; a staple of the franchise starting (and ending) primarily with DBZ. What this means is that there are no characters with arbitrary starting levels like 1,000, which also means there won't be any veteran members with a level like 20,000,000, which might keep people interested from joining due to them thinking they have no chance to catch up to others. Players dictate the power of their characters in relation to others based on how powerful they want their character to be in relation to others. You want a character who fits right in with the squad? Fine. Likewise if you want to have a character who's heavily disadvantaged compared to everyone else. Narrative trumps stats.
This makes stories and conflicts more engaging since they're about the writing and not about doing such and such to avoid this much damage while doing this much damage and conserving this much stamina. This is a DB RPG as freeform as any RPG can get.
If you like Dragon Ball, shonen-type anime like Naruto, Bleach, Fairy Tail, One Piece... Hell, if you're a fan of superheroics and anime in general, stop by Forced Heroes.
