Collab This Theme, Anyone?

Like I say, I'm sure a lot would be beyond my capabilities for this theme, so I am hoping someone who has the skill set to can make this theme a reality - because in my opinion, it's really nice and has some nice features (and the fact that it has endless colour possibilities (as some are shown in my post below)

Check all of the previews, but the important three, I guess are the first 3.
It shows the Main Page, Thread with multiple posts, and Thread with a long post.

There's lots to add - content wise. Such as stuff to the bottom menu bar, but getting the basic layout figured out, and the horizontal scrolling using the bottom bar (on the thread list) couldn't hurt whilst we figure other stuff out. I just don't want to finish the whole thing for nothing.

If you think you may be up for this and have any questions (or aren't up for it but want to know how stuff may/may not work), feel free to ask and I will answer the best I can.


I hope the basic idea of this is easy to understand though -
The top half is your banner with the PB Ad there, the menu buttons at the top and at the bottom is the Navigation Tree.This would all take up the entire screen. You the scroll down, and that's how the second half of the concept looks. The menu bar has stuck, and the navigation has moved below it.

Only one category would be displayed at once. The idea of the theme is modern and to not be clustered. Having it nice and clean, and simple.



Umm yeah hopefully that's all you need to know. Hopefully someone sees this and tries it, it'd be awesome - or you could collab on it? I don't mind, everyone would be credited, of course.

Or should it at least just be in the "Theme" board rather than any of the sub-boards... ?

That would definitely be the best option to do. I could easily create the forum, then someone start the basic layout, changing the CSS etc.
We could even have multiple people doing different things, so one on the main page whilst another did the post list. Or obviously we'd come to some arrangement s we weren't in the same layout templates etc at the same time messing each others stuff up.

I would definitely love to see this theme come to life though. I'm sure others would too, surely? So anyone willing to help would be awesome. It's pretty much just coding that is needed (even if it's just for the basic layout of it - that way it'd boot me up the back side to try beg someone to do the other, harder stuff that I could definitely not do lol).




(Edit: Just to say though, we'd share powers to edit themes on a forum, but we;d also PM one another too - either on said test forum or on here, Support)

If they could be incorporated to match perfectly fine, then we could definitely discuss doing so.
As for credits, everyone would be credited - most likely some sort of credit/thanks at the bottom of the forum wrapper, then once hover over the individual name, it says what type of work they did, and/or other special credits/thanks )

Stinky666 Just posting that I am totally interested in joining this project if you'll have me! I've been in love with this entire concept and design since you originally posted it. I've never done a collab before and it seems like it'd be something interesting to try out. I can link you some of my more recent projects (Library stuff is pretty outdated) if necessary.

Stinky666 - I think the biggest issue with any of these themes is that you still can't move the ad banner into the top right corner like that :s

Actually, if I remember I did ask before and they said yes. Unless I asked something different to which someone said yes to. I'm not sure why we wouldn't be able to move it to the side, it's still 100% visible. Having it centered doesn't make a difference in my eyes.

Haha yep. I was sick (have been for ages) of the ads being "in the way", as I'm sure are you and others, and something as simple as allowing us to move them to the sides, can make a huge difference design wise.

Maybe we should tag VS Admin though to make sure this is still allowed, which I hope it is and see no reason why?
