Flashing Board or Icon for New Post

I am not sure if this was the right place to post such a request, but is there a possibility for a code that can make the board, or an icon for the board, flash on and off whenever there is a new post?

Why not just use a gif in place of the "new" image in the board image customisations? Would that work? In all honesty, I haven't tried to use a gif there so not sure if it will accept it, but that would be my first guess
