sdgo.freeforums.net/Hello All, I hope this it the right place for this request, but here goes... I'd like to create a customized document/thread within a sub-board and need your expertise and assistance. I have a "specific" sub-board (Clan Registration) used for registering our alliance clans. I like to know if the following can be accomplished through the footer area? 1. relabel "Create Thread" button to "Clan Application" 2. once document is created, relabel title to "Clan Application" 3. relabel the "Create Thread" button which appears at bottom right to "Submit Application". 4. also at same time, can subject be reformatted, instead of an input field, to auto insert the username (of applicant applying) + <whatever text I choose> (e.g. evangelion7890 - xyz clan> . If this not possible then a non-input field with customized text auto entered. 5. also, can the "Add Poll" and "Add Event" be disabled as it wouldn't apply to that particular sub-board. Not worried about the contents of the document itself, primarily what surrounds it, which is all of the above. Thanks...:Evan. cc: P̌̓aͧś̀t̀u͒le͆o͂2̀3̃̓

Definitely Possible. Right now I'm working on something else though. Keep bumping. I had a feeling you would say that, the first part that is. Will do, thanks again. You are the master...:Evan. Also could be made into some kind of plugin that renames buttons and disables buttons on specific boards. Would be an interesting plugin.

Haven't thought of that, but yes, that would be a great project if it can be done. Yeah, you can also create a library of tools or modules that can interconnect and does everything for you. I know you can do it! Thx...:Evan.

Hi All,
I figure I share this with all and DO NOT take ownership or credit of this code as it was provided to me by another user of this board via pm. He graciously assisted with my request and appreciate his efforts.
Since I am not a coder I will not be able to assist, just passing along the info and since it was thru a pm i'm keeping his name private unless he decides otherwise.
Thanks...:Evan.
Just one note, this goes in the global footer and the board id 74 is the board where i'm currently using this code.
<script> var customThreadSubject = "Enter your customised title here";
$(document).ready(function() { if (proboards.data("page").board.id == 74 && proboards.data("route").name == "board") { $(".title-bar .controls li a").html("Clan Application"); } if (proboards.data("route").name == "new_thread") { var currentUser = proboards.data("user").name; document.title = "Clan Application"; $("#poll-button, #event-button").remove(); $("input[name='post']").val("Submit Application"); $(".subject_input input").prop("disabled", true).val(currentUser + " " + customThreadSubject); } $("input[name='post']").bind("click.enableInput", function() { $(".subject_input input").prop("disabled", false); }); }); </script>

I'm fine with this being shared but I've actually just spotted a problem. The above code will change the page title, button names and remove the poll/event buttons on every thread creation page when in reality that should only happen on the board specified. This is what it should actually be: <script> var customThreadSubject = "Enter your customised title here"; var boardId = 56; // The id of the board you want the code to run on $(document).ready(function() { if (proboards.data("route").name == "board") { if (proboards.data("page").board.id == boardId) { $(".title-bar .controls li a").html("Clan Application"); } } if (proboards.data("route").name == "new_thread" && proboards.data("page").board.id == boardId) { var currentUser = proboards.data("user").name; document.title = "Clan Application"; $("#poll-button, #event-button").remove(); $("input[name='post']").val("Submit Application"); $(".subject_input input").prop("disabled", true).val(currentUser + " " + customThreadSubject); } $("input[name='post']").bind("click.enableInput", function() { $(".subject_input input").prop("disabled", false); }); }); </script>

Hi Kurisu, Works great without a hitch! Also, for others, I've been using Kurisu's code with the custom post template plugin which works great. I used the plugin to create a clan input request form but encountered a slight problem with the template as it removes all fields for guest users only leaving an empty body. I played around with the permissions set to "everyone" and also custom without success. Unfortunately the author of the plugin has not responded to plugin requests since Aug. of last year I would've posted this there. If anyone has any suggestions i'm all ears. Thanks...:Evan. Update: Kurisu, I had to remove the code from global footer and put into the footer of the specific forum. It was affecting the subject of all other forums locking it with the customized subject. Anyway, works fine now.
