Just place a <span id="mynotepad"></span> on your forum where you want it. As per your quote

i know about the div, iv got it in my sidebar, but when i save a note .... where is it found later ?

In that same box.... It saves it in a key and its displayed there

so you mean it saves one for when you refesh  ?

Actually tinselled loki wrote up the html for it. I just made it work

Actually tinselled loki wrote up the html for it. I just made it work

how do i get the buttons selector thingy so i can move them, they're all squashed up.

Good day,

it has been 20 years since I built websites. I installed a Plugin- My Notes 2.0 direct to forum. Tye plugin is installed with Javascript and box checked to activate.  The developer states, put following anywhere on forum. I want it to open by hitting a navigational button My Notes in toolbar. <span id="mynotepad"></span>

I have looked at the html layout plate and CSS layout and can see nothing in Navigation where to insert <span id="mynotepad"></span>

any help appreciated.

Give this a try:

Step 1:

In your Forum Wrapper layout template line 37 (may differ if you've made template changes) you should see this:
{/foreach}
</ul>
Between these add this 
<li><details><summary id="navnotes">My Notes</summary><span id="mynotepad"></span></details></li>

So it should look like this:
{/foreach}
<li><details><summary id="navnotes">My Notes</summary><span id="mynotepad"></span></details></li>
</ul>
Save Changes.


Step 2:

Go to the CSS style sheet and at the very bottom on a new line add this:
#navnotes {display: inline-block; padding: 0 .75em; color: @nav_bar_button_color; font: @nav_bar_button_font; text-decoration: @nav_bar_button_decoration; text-shadow: @nav_bar_button_shadow; background: @nav_bar_button_background; line-height: 31px !important; vertical-align:top; cursor:pointer;}
Save Changes.



Note:  I've added additional code that toggles the My Notes visibility.
