I think I like the white background better; but maybe instead of releasing two versions of the plugin (white and black), you could add a feature that allows the admin to choose the background color themselves, that way you'd only need to release one plugin and each forum could choose a color that matched their theme.

The popup box seems to be appearing in the center of the screen now, so I am going to assume it's now working like it should. If another similar problem arises, then I'll let you know The javascript security feature sounds cool; what happens when a read/viewed message is detected? Would the recipient still get a receipt? And I would be interested in the timestamp, like either a timestamp next to each message or a timestamp of just the last view time.

Timestamps, Background Color Choice etc added in version 2.0 with better IE support and blahty blah

Quick question-- for "staff only," does it mean only staff will receive "PM read" receipts but they get it from all users, or does it mean only staff get the receipts but they only get the read receipts from other staff? I'm a bit confused on the wording in the plugin =)

Basically it only applies to staff. Plugin won't run at all for users.
Turns it into a staff keeping track plugin that doesn't bother users with pointless popups. My favorite option.

Ah ohkay, I was hoping for something like only staff get read receipts but they get it from all users, so users only experience the pop-up if reading a staff PM and only staff can see who has read their messages. It doesn't appear to be that--it seems more innerstaff specifically--so thank you for answering my question! =D

The popup was the only way to make this plugin possible via Terms of Service. There is no way to prevent this in the foreseeable future unless v6 allows saving on page load. (Which is not likely) 
Right now you can have it only enabled for staff.
And in the future maybe an option for only messages that have staff as a recipient.

P̌̓aͧś̀t̀u͒le͆o͂2̀3̃̓ - since we don't have an ETA on v6 yet since your post roughly a year ago, any chance you'd be willing to add 'staff communications only' sooner?

Also would it be possible to exclude certain member groups (either via whitelist or blacklist, whichever is easier to code) from this? I run an RP with multiple accounts per member, and we send all communications to accounts in the "OOC" group -- however, mass PMs etc are still received by the in-character groups. It would be nice to specify that only [staff] groups and the [ooc] group would be affected by this plugin.
