I'll bet @joecool111 is right. You launched a mobile app. You abandoned it for some reason. (Cost? Bugs? Instability? Moving target? Better alternatives? Who knows.) Now you've got things right and you're bringing it back. Here's where marketing comes in. Are you going to run an ad campaign "Out of the trash bin, it rises! New and improved!" or are you going to run "Phoenix Rising!"? I think the latter. I suppose you could also go the route of pretending the original never happened (a la Hollywood reboot-of-reboots), or trying to completely dissociate the new from the old ("What happened to our old app? It was murdered. Murdered by the greatness of our new app! Behold!"), but "Phoenix Rising!" is still the gold standard. Who doesn't love phoenixes?  That one even cried and saved Harry Potter. Do you want your mobile app to be something that murders inferior apps, or do you want it to be a badass bird that cries healing tears? I know where my marketing budget is going. |
