Boy_Wonder - I don't typically put the editable copy in the library. This is mostly so it can't be tampered with to which may bring people to the support thread saying "I think I did something and now it doesn't work". Skidjit - Just to confirm the answers you were given above:

- Only someone who has access to your Plugins > Manage can add / edit / delete events for the plugin. There's no method in there that would allow a user to do this and that would probably also require a super key so everyone had access to see the entry. Maybe as a thought for later on down the road update, but definitely not until after V6 launches. We'll see. Remind me if you'd be interested in user entries after that, and I'll look into it.

- The plugin does look for the <div> so it knows where it should appear. I did it this way to allow forum owners the option of where they wanted it placed, rather than me hard-code a location in. I'll add info about the <div> in the About tab though. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

- I took a look on your forum and didn't see where you've got the plugin running, so I'll take a guess at what could be the problem. First, if there are events for the current date (whatever today's actual date is), check to make sure you don't have the Date Placement setting (Settings tab) set to No Date, as this will prevent the date from showing at all. If that's not the case, see if there's an entry that has today's date (for this post, the Date would be 2/26 for an event to show today). If there's no event for today (you're seeing the (There are no Events listed with today's date.) message), then the date doesn't show. I'll add that in to show the date, but only if the Date Placement is set to Title Bar (no need to for Content since there wouldn't really be any content). Third possibility: do you have the Date in MM/DD format? As stated by Boy_Wonder , the format may not be clear - of which will be addressed. Using a date in any other format, such as MM-DD or DD/MM or DD-MM won't work and the plugin won't recognize it. If you set with DD/MM, the plugin will try to interpret that as MM/DD. So, if you have what you want as February 7 entered as 7/2 (DD/MM)- it thinks you mean July 2 (MM/DD).

I'm currently having issues getting into the Build (keep getting the Err Bear), so I can't work on these fixes yet. I'll work on them as soon as the Err Bear decides to go back into hibernation.

I know. I came back in here while that error was going on. Ugh. Glad all is well now though.

I did get it to working before on my test site, after I added that code in the template. (You peeked in on my main site before I could get it up. Company dropped by my house.) Anyway, I just now put it on my main site listed below. No dates show though. (I used as you said 2/26 for today. No spaces or zeros.) But what I put in the field for the event did.

Honestly, I'm going to have to go for a little while. There's no hurry on this issue on my end. I know you want to get things working as soon as possible. Who knows, maybe in a little while the angry bear will have gone to sleep to let you do your stuff. I'll be back later. Thanks for your help so far.

Would you be able to make it so I can get rid of the border easily, and change the background colour (as well as the title-bar class XD) (unless I'm being dense and that should be the msg-otd class xD

Skidjit - I still can't get into the build. Please do me a favor and try putting it on On This Date to see if the date shows on that setting. If it does, then I know right where I need to go to fix that. You can put it back on On This Day afterwards. Thanks!

Boy_Wonder - Border is controlled by ".msg-otd" and you could probably add a background color in it as well (I don't have a background color set for it). I haven't tested with adding a background color, so not sure if the ".msg-otd" class will do what you want. To remove the border, just add this to the bottom of your stylesheet:

.msg-otd {
  border: none;
}

you may need to add the !important flag if that doesn't take as is.

Once I can get in and add the tab where you can do class replacements, you should then be able to do that and possibly control your title-bar's colors by using your class.

Once I get those new options in, you could even create your own classes to add to your CSS stylesheet and then add those new classes into the plugin to look for. This would allow you to further customize by having the plugin look for your classes and apply the CSS they use.

No worries about the requests - gives me the opportunity to both improve the plugin and my skills.

Actually, that was where I originally wanted to have the date, in content. But I went ahead and changed it to Title bar. I think I'll leave it there until I get back to tinkering with this. I'll peek in later. Really, for me there's no hurry. Good luck Lynx

OH my goodness! I am backreading this whole thread. (got to grab those edit codes while I still can.) But THEY are right. If this plugin already says, "On this day" or date... There really is no need for an actual date there unless you want one. I think in my mind, when filling out the events for the dates, I would need to make sure I have a date attatched to them... But that would only need be SEEN on the admin screen, not on the actual home page. I'll leave that option up to you, if you want to make it viewable on the home page or not. I really don't want to add to your plate. However, I do like the the edit options that the others here have been requesting. Great work so far. Thanks Lynx

Skidjit - That's what the Date Placement option is for. You can have the date in the Title Bar, in the Content area or No Date at all - it's all optional to what you want. However, with your settings (that I posted for myself earlier), you had it set for Title Bar - which means the date should have showed up there. It's still not showing up for me anywhere either, so I've updated my support thread about it. At least, however, I can get back in and start making those other fixes / additions.

As far as the date not showing, I've reported it to Michael Stone, who in turn reported it to the team working on getting all issues resolved. For now, I guess, it's going to act as if No Date is set regardless of setting for Date Placement. This is something currently out of my control and ask for patience while the PB team works their miracle.

Note: If you leave it the Date Placement on Title Bar or Content, the date should automatically re-appear when the PB team has the issue resolved.

On This Date allows you to enter events into the Dates tab with their associated events. The text field is used to describe the event, or what the event was, or whatever. Some may even find it useful to enter in upcoming events for their forum where it will automatically list it on that date.

(1) Install the plugin.
(2) Manage the plugin and enter the dates and events on the plugin's Dates tab.
(3) Enable the plugin.
(4) Place <div class="msg-otd"></div> where you want it to appear.

If there are any bugs / suggestions for this plugin, please post them here and not in the Review area in the library. I don't check those that often and I may not see it in a timely manner.

OK. Thanks. I now have it installed and the other one deleted. All is set up so the date would show in the Title bar once they get it. I'll pop in here to let you know when I see the date, just so you would know.

Boy_Wonder - Would I be correct in guessing that that's what you were looking for with your request? Also, I'm going through the code now and have found some stray <b> in there that I'm cleaning up now - so it may not be something on your end to find. When done, the only bold hard-coded would be the date but only on Date Placement = Content. Nothing else should be bold after this. Apologies for that - I thought I had them all.

Skidjit - The date's still not showing and I've updated my support thread on it. I'm going to see what I can find out from my end. That should be a good indicator, though, when you see the date come back.
