Thanks Kami - its really useful! I was worried about if the menu icons made sense (and I had a snazzy idea I might implement if not I admit but) I'm going to play more with the ease of access area, I might redo that top area as I've found new way of doing what I wanted in the first place! Kami - I've made some big changes, relaid the whole thing - would love some thoughts on, hoping I've conquered the top banner issues (and made sense of the TWO welcome boxes)

A+ on the change in how you organise the information in the header-banner-thing! I am, however, still struggling to read the light-grey text against the saturated background. It's not impossible, but the text that is bolded black that says "John Smith" is easier to read for me than the current grey text for the rest of the content. I'm also still struggling with the cyan links in the header -- they're OK on the body of the forum (not too straining or difficult to read) but troublesome for the eyes against the header's background. The fluid width is still showing some trouble for me. When I expand to full width in my browser (1920x1024), the body content overlaps with the header, and when I expand to about half my browser width the header overlaps the body content. It's pretty perfect at about 1620px wide, however. You may want to consider using fluid sizes for the header content until it turns into "mobile mode" (for lack of a better phrasing). You can also do fluid font sizes, as outlined here. As far as the welcome sections, I see now what you're doing but I still personally don't believe it makes sense. The longer text seems like a slightly differently worded version of what you have linked to in your "read more" in the sidebar, so it seems redundant still. If you'd permit me, I can do a quick screenshot edit to show what I think would be a less verbose way to display the same information (but please feel free to decline! this is your theme after all!).

Boy_Wonder , You are basically wanting opinions on your design or theme as you say, correct and really nothing else? I ask because of the first paragraph in our rules: Welcome to the Get Opinions About Your Board section of ProBoards Support! Here, you can create a thread and receive rates, critiques and overall reviews about your forum's design, organisation, content, etc. If you are looking for rates on your skin only, please post in the design board.I'll happily move this but want to make sure I'm understanding correctly.
