Hi. Oh look, another plugin for the shoutbox! Special shout out to Dark Hydrak for requesting this!

This plugin allows members to block certain members shouts. To clarify, this only prevents you from seeing the shouts of the members that you select in this section. This does not prevent the members you block from using the shoutbox.

Uses 1 user key

Pretty straightforward functionality. After installing this plugin go to your Privacy Settings in your profile and you should notice these buttons appear at the bottom of that page: 

If you don't see those buttons (or those buttons don't work please let me know here) by tagging me, replying to this thread, slapping me with a PM or sending a letter to the office. You can do all three if you'd like.

actually it doesn't, the 'view blocked users' button just saves something, it does the same as the save button with the green 'save'

Why would you need to wait until you get a Super Key? According to both the OP and Plugin Library entry, this only requires a regular key.

Ulises This problem just keeps being there.

Beside that, I don't get anything done with this plugin. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but thanks to the mention that all is pretty straightforward, there isn't much info. So could you give me a bit more detailed describtion of how this plugin would work?

The "Add users" button should bring up a dialog box for you to search for and add users you want to block. The "View blocked users" opens up a dialog with a list of all the users you currently have blocked and the "remove users" brings up a dialog that allows you to search for a user to block and remove them from the blocked list.

What I in essence am looking for is a plugin to ban players from the shoutbox. This plugin does, in my idea, not completely clarify if it's memberside hiding the posts of the blocked members, or if the blocked player cant use the shoutbox at all.

Ad the View Blocked Users doesn't bring something up, but clicking on it just saves something, as the thing I qouted says.

Ah, I understand. It's member side. So an individual member has the ability to block other members from appearing in the shoutbox. In other words, if you don't want to see a particular persons shoutbox messages you can block them with this plugin.

I can help you with the thing you are looking for however. The best solution I can think of is a template change. In
In Themes > Layout Templates > Forum Wrapper find the $[shoutbox] line and change it to this:

{if $[current_user.id] != 000}
    $[shoutbox]
{/if}

The green 000 is the ID number of the member you wish to ban from the shoutbox. The ID is the number you see in the URL when visiting their profile. If you wish to ban more than one member you can change the above code to this:

{if $[current_user.id] != 000 && $[current_user.id] != 1234 && $[current_user.id] != 5678}
    $[shoutbox]
{/if}

That is indeed what I needed, thanks!

I changed the code a bit though, I placed it in Themes > Layout Templates > Shoutbox, so my code became as follow.

This way the person is still able to see the shoutbox, but can't write in it. I tested it with myself and works.
