How you feeling about Sunday's game Graham? Also interested to hear your take on the outright purchase of Krul. Any idea about the circumstances surrounding that?

I'm usually sceptical, and this is no exception We're strong at home but Newcastle have taken well to the league and as we saw last season, have the edge and at the moment i'd say you were favourites. Krul is interesting - it was known that we needed another keeper and it was odd that we got him, as he's good enough to start but we have Mat Ryan (doing alright, but shaky to begin with) and Nikki Maenpaa (always solid and dependable). I'm not sure how the purchase works, as i'm guessing he must have been released from his contract first before joining us, as only free agents can join before January? He was registered in our 25 man squad already so i guess it's a loophole... What do you think? Happy with how the season started?

I think Krul's transfer is an odd one indeed given that he's had no top flight experience for years, and only minimal experience abroad. I really hope he does well and if you can get him nursed back to the form he was in five years ago you'll have a better keeper than we do. I didn't see anything about the contract stragely. I know he was in his last year this year, but my impression was it ran him to Summer 2018. Wishing him the best. Definitely a great start to the season for us, far beyond what I expected. I know we've had an "easy run" but we've just come back from the Championship and haven't invested a huge amount in the squad, so I feel like if we were anyone else and had the same run after promotion people would be singing our praises. Still a lot to work to do and of course it takes about ten games to really bed in and judge the tone for the season, but there's a lot of belief in Rafa and indeed the squad. I'm feeling quite excited to be honest for the first time in a good few years. Tomorrow's game should be a really good one if our Championship meetings were anything to go by last season, especially the last one.

Well, not the most thrilling game yesterday afternoon but Brighton did deserve to beat us. Our lack of finishing ability really showed in the game, and it's actually starting to get quite worrying that we don't have a reliable goalscorer even though we have (for the first time in a long time at this level) reliable service from the wings and through the middle.

I was watching it worrying it would be a repeat of last season - we score, sit back and you pepper the goal and end up nicking a late goal or two. Thankfully we defended well - Joeslu's effort in the first half I thought was going in but somehow he sent it wide from a fantastic position. Surprised that Hemed has now been charged by the FA for his stamp on Yedlin - yes he did make contact but the replays showed he was off balance. I expect given the FA that he will get banned for it, which will be a shame as he's started to really shine for us up-front - he was superb yesterday. I think Newcastle have enough though - having a plan B (Gayle if Joselu can't score) is a good thing to have and you still have Murphy if you need to go long and you have a solid midfield - Merino looks a decent signing!

Time for us all to check in, I think!
After quite a promising start I feel like we're starting to slip. After losing games against Burnley and Bournemouth I feel we could have won, I am starting to get worried about our ability to close games out--something that has been a problem for us for at least ten years (with the exception of our seasons in the Championship). I'm really hoping there's some movement on the takeover soon so that we can get funds in January. We're in desperate need of another striker and ideally a number 10, or I can see us continuing to struggle. I don't think we'll be in a relegation struggle, but it's annoying to know what with the addition of a couple of decent new players we might not get we could be looking at a top half finish and have a solid squad to build on for next season when the big money can be spent.

... and games against Leeds ...
I must confess to not really keeping an eye on the Premier League, but had heard discontent up in Newcastle through the season, so was surprised to see Newcastle in the top half when i saw the table last week.
Guess you are maybe echoing Ipswich a little, inasmuch as a sizeable number of our fans are not happy, but there we are, sitting in the top half, just outside the play-offs. These are strange times.

United started off with a bomb now they are stuttering like a bomb defused lol, I hope we can pull our finger out and make sure we keep up with City who is going great, we have to play them away and at home and I think that is the key, beat them in both games and the EPL title will go down to the wire come May next year. What do you guys think about Moyes being named manager of the hammers? Moyes named West Ham boss

Guess you are maybe echoing Ipswich a little, inasmuch as a sizeable number of our fans are not happy, but there we are, sitting in the top half, just outside the play-offs. These are strange times. I think the discontent is generally aimed at the owner more than Rafa. There's a lot of disappointment in not having signed a striker or number 10 in the window despite the fact that we apparently had some funds available. My general impression is that most fans are still overjoyed to be doing as well as we are, but it does get frustrating when you're losing games that you know you could win if only you could close them out properly or get someone who could bang a goal in. Caajscot (John) - would definitely not be liking that appointment if I was a West Ham fan. Surely this has to be Moyes's last go on the managerial merry-go-round if he messes this one up. I suspect Everton fans will have breathed a sigh of relief when they read about him going to West Ham! Been a strange start for United, hearing a lot of criticism directed at Mou. What do you think about him?

What do you think about him? When Sir Alex announced his retirement there was a lot of debates about who should take over from him D and when Moyes name was mentioned in the media then it was a big NO from myself and a lot of others, but when Jose name was mentioned then a lot of us said YES. The only reservations about Jose from myself that he was a drifter, stay at a club for a wee while and then move on, but I am just hoping that he stays for a while and help win a few more trophies, hopefully, the EPL title and maybe the Champions League Cup, the EPL can be achieved I think but maybe not this season if we don't catch up with City, but the Champions League Cup is a big gamble but you never know. Then again a manager nowadays in the EPL lifespan is about 3/4 top, not like SAF or Wenger who was and have been in their respective clubs for years.

So... Big Sam in at Everton and Pardew in at West Brom. What do we think of that?

So... Big Sam in at Everton and Pardew in at West Brom. What do we think of that? I have always liked Big Sam and when he was at Bolton they were always one of United's hoodoo teams, but saying that this just might be his last throw of the dice and he just might have gone a 'Bridge to Far' and can't save Everton from the drop, I hope I am wrong but like WBA sacking Pullis and putting Pardew in charge he could be in the same boat as Big Sam. Clubs nowadays want instant success and Everton & WBA are in that category.

What do you think of the Mitrovic bid Graham? Looks like an offer of £8mn was turned down:
