Forum URL: ualliance.boards.net/When setting events on the calendar the seems to be displaying a day earlier than we have been setting up the event. For example in August I have had to change the event date to 08/15/16 for and event that we wanted to be on the 14th August. Is there any way of fixing this problem? Thanks evilbetty

Hi, evilbetty. This is a known issue, but we still unfortunately haven't been able to duplicate it on our end each time it's been reported. For that reason we haven't been able to provide a workaround.

evilbetty, We tend to have this problem on one of our forums. The workaround (which, so far, has worked every time) is to create the thread first - but do not add the event on thread creation. Once you've posted the thread, click the Edit button for it. From there, click the Add Event button and add your event. Click the Save Changes button to save the event to the thread. Just be sure you post the thread in the board you want it in, though - I haven't tested to see if an event would remain "proper" in a thread move. I can't guarantee success, but it has worked for us without any problems so far.

This is an OLD THREAD - but we have only just started using Calendar, so this may help others or pin-point the issue.
If you create a new Calendar event - say 20 June 2021 - and leave it as an "all day" event, it will save to the 19th. I think it is because of the way the time is displayed in the boxes - the 20th should start at 12.01am and not 12.00am. It is recognised in lots of legal and formal places, the "next day" starts at a minute past midnight.

Just to note, since this is an old thread, you should have created a new thread and linked back to this one instead of necro'ing it (which is against this board's rules). That being said, while places may recognize the new day starting at 12:01am, the date officially changes at 12:00am (midnight). If you want to verify this, look at any device that displays date and time and see when the date actually changes.

Noted. 00:01 or 12.01am is recognised in many industries as the start of the day, for convenience, and the end of the day at 23:59 or 11:59pm (if you prefer). The 2 minutes are not "lost" they still exist, but the date/time if not programmed correctly, will cause issues. I was in Insurance, Finance and Aerospace industry for nearly 50 years and 00:01 and 23:59 was more often and not used.
