What are your favorite parts about running a forum?

Favorite part:

Designing the forum theme(s), editing the settings, and pretty much all the background work in coding and making custom stuff. Also I love spamming links on Twitter. Seeing members post and reply.

Least favorite:

Waiting for people to join and actually post on the forum. This is the reason I ditched the forum I am running now in the first place, but I came back because I want to run a fan/music forum with a positive feel to the community. It's hard for me to see so many non-bot guests viewing the forum and leaving without signing up.

My Favourite parts:
* Coding new stuff for my community to use.
* Seeing such a great community be happy and help others, discuss together, etc.
* Seeing everyone honor me like a king. It makes me happy even though I`m no king. :3

Least Favourite parts:
* The ad free. It`s annoying to have to constantly purchase a 50k PV every month, and the more members you have, the more money it costs...
* Drama. Every now and then, there will be a little aggression over members. They threaten to leave constantly and I`ve had two members threaten to hack the site (They were bluffing). It is hard sometimes...
* Loss of activity. There are days where things are just quiet. My main peeve is the lack of posting. We usually get at least 1 Thread and 5 Posts per day with the 50+ members I have on [removed link], but sometimes users will be online, say Hi in the chat, and get offline. -_-

But after the day ends, I`m happy to see how far I`ve come from "The Cancer of Total Miner Forums" (Total Miner is a poorly developed Minecraft game I played years ago that has one of those forum communities where everyone is rude and the staff don`t care for the users.) to the developer of Shaddenare and it`s forums and community. This is what I wake up for now.

IMO, forums excel when it targets a specific community. That's what mine is. Unfortunately, I cannot link it since there's mature content and it's a private forum. 

Sometimes general forums are just that.. general. You have to have something that sets you apart though.

how is that even possible, for real? lol
what is your forum about, if i may ask?

i know hack related forums are big nowadays, drugs and wrestling too i think, but i assume its not about anything like that so yeah you make me curious
