Hello Sammiie , I went to your forum and took a look at the issue and noticed that the linking is in-fact directing to 'null'. The strange thing is that I just set it up on a forum I am moderating and it is working without any issues. Could you please take a picture of your current settings for the plugin and send it to me on discord (TheSupremePatriot#4866)? Thanks! Here are the current settings: Plugin: discord_widget_js
Version: 1.1.0
Settings: {"server_id":"363229479339950080","title":"","show_join":"false","alphabetical":"true","theme":"dark","showallusers":"false","all_users_default_state":"false","show_nicknames":"true"}
That is very strange, it works fine with my serverid but when I used your serverid it does indeed take me to 'null'.
Unfortunately this problem is not in my control, I made <iframe> of your server with the site that this plugin is using to display the widget and when it displayed your frame, upon clicking your join server button, I was directed to discordi.deliriousdrunkards.com/null where the error "Cannot GET /null" is displayed on the page. I will do my best to get in contact with the developer of the API and see if he can find out the cause of that. My only guess at the moment is that there might be something in the ID that confuses the JS from functioning properly. Not too sure to be honest.
For now I suggest making a new temporary channel with a different serverID and see if that ID would work well.

Unfortunately no. No updates have been made to the source, therefore I can not update the plugin. Sorry I’ll be sure to update as soon as they become available though.

It appears the plugin has a bug, specifically there is an issue with it needing to pass on a boolean false but has instead issued a string 'false' (in quotes) which when converted to boolean would in fact evaluate to true. Please let the plugin author know about this when you post in the support thread so all those values that should be boolean (not string) can be corrected. Update: When I switch the "show join" to "false" to hide it while the issue is being resolved, nothing happens. It shows the button whether that switch is marked true or false... Hi. I'm having this same exact problem. Both the "join server" button and the option to turn it off don't work.EDIT:
To be clear, the line in the plugin's footer code should be: allUsersDefaultState: $[plugin.settings.all_user_default_state], not allUsersDefaultState: '$[plugin.settings.all_user_default_state]',The same holds true for all the other booleans (true/false) values called out in the image above Boolean('true') === Boolean('false'); //not cool Boolean(true) === Boolean(false); //cool

Was there the fix for this? I'm having the same issue. Tried it with other discord servers I own and the "join button" works for none of them, nor can I turn off the join button. So sad, I was very hopeful.

Hi, I'm having a problem with this plugin, basically when i put it in the global header or anywhere it appears like this: View AttachmentJust the black and blue bar. Did I do something wrong? I am also getting this when trying to use this widget and seeing the same issue. I've confirmed the Discord Channel ID is correct.

Sorry for the delayed reply, you need to be on the desktop version to access this as well as have administrator privileges. You will find it under “Server Settings”, the layout has changed since that image was posted but it is still in that general area.

Ok, so I wanted to put my input in on this. I was having the same problem of having the 404 code after putting in Server ID. What I did was copy and paste it. But this time, I went in and actually keyed all the numbers in. After this, it worked! So maybe try not to copy and paste the numbers but actually key them in.

I'm having this issue, but I put my widget in my sidebar (ala Sidebar Redux), not in the footer. How do I fix the issue of the 'Join Server' button refusing to go away when I don't have a place to edit the code directly? Regardless of whether I select True or False to show 'Join Server', it will not go away. I disabled 'Invite channels' on my Discord server as well, but the button is still there. Therein lies the problem. The author would need to fix the issue themself being the plugin is edit locked. You could forego the plugin and add the code it generates directly to your global footer to fix the described boolean problem that way (booleans should not be in quotes because they are then treated as strings and always evaluate to true even when presented as 'false' unless string is empty ''). Just view source of the page with the plugin enabled and copy the code it generates then paste it in your global footer making sure to get rid of any single or double quotes around any boolean true or boolean false, for example it should be join: false, not join: 'false',The generated code is two scripts, the first loads the render library from jsdeliver and the second sets up the configuration based on what you chose in the plugin settings then finally renders it (see image in my previous post). Once you have that properly setup in your global footer you can disable or remove the plugin.

Is there any way I could do that while still having my Discord widget in my sidebar? (Sorry if this is a dumb question, HTML is not my strong suit) I'm not sure if it's the plugin code or the library code that determines the location of the widget based on div.discord-widget so if you PM me a link to your forum (has to be viewable by guests) I can take a look EDIT
It is the remotely hosted code at cdn.jsdelivr.net that looks for the .discord-widget, not the plugin code, so wherever you place that <div class="discord-widget"></div> is where it should appear, the plugin has no role in deciding the location. This is how the code generated by the plugin looks <script type="text/javascript" src="//cdn.jsdelivr.net/discord-widget/1.0/discord-widget.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> discordWidget.init({ serverId: 'INSERT_SERVER_ID_HERE', title: 'INSERT_TITLE_HERE', join: 'false', alphabetical: 'false', theme: 'dark', hideChannels: ['Channel Name 1', 'Channel Name 2'], showAllUsers: 'true', allUsersDefaultState: 'false', showNick: 'false' }); discordWidget.render(); </script> Notice all the quoted 'false' instead of just plain falseHere is the corrected code you can add to the bottom of your global footer <script type="text/javascript" src="//cdn.jsdelivr.net/discord-widget/1.0/discord-widget.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> discordWidget.init({ serverId: 'INSERT_SERVER_ID_HERE', title: 'INSERT_TITLE_HERE', join: false, alphabetical: false, theme: 'dark', hideChannels: ['Channel Name 1', 'Channel Name 2'], showAllUsers: true, allUsersDefaultState: false, showNick: false }); discordWidget.render(); </script> After adding the corrected code then turn off the plugin so it stops adding the problem code It is important that you leave the <div class="discord-widget"></div> in place because that tells the code at cdn.jsdelivr.net where to place the widget on the page
