First off, love the look of the board as a whole. Simple works for me and the grey and blue is very easy on my eyes. There is balance in the forum which rather suites all around on posts vs. threads and what your forum is about. Your banner is lovely. I love all the little pictures scattered within it. It shows things from light to dark to science to history and health and so much more. Nicely done. The title of your forum caught my attention since its a name a friend uses. The topic is a well rounded one.
Layout is fine. I don't see a need for fancy there. Content plays a bigger factor on your board than anything else. I can see topics might very well expand over time there but I bet you already know that. It shows that you've been part of forums for a long time.
Opening it up for both members and guests to take part is something I'd never do myself but can see why you would do that. Another thing, with your board being open for anyone, that means the content is open for anyone to read. I don't like that idea. The kind of board you have shouldn't be completely open like that. On most topics that is fine but when it comes to say... personal details shared with you and members... that part should be hidden from guests. Some might not be willing to share with the whole world. I'm an open person myself but there are many who are not and yet still want to share. On some topics, even I'm not willing to discuss to an open community and yours touches some very deep places.
4/5 because I like the whole package you have there. It's a beautiful place when taken the time to read. You were right when you said it can be a touchy subject which is why I said what I did. At this point, I don't see where I can be of any help with a full review but hope what I did say helps some.
Thank you for taking the time to review our forums! Greatly appreciated. You touch on some great points, and made me re-think a few things. I agree that this is a pretty deep subject for people to be willing to openly talk about it. When I left it open for anyone to see or discuss, I intended the forums as an anonymous platform. While people can identify themselves if they wish we see our forums as kind of anonymous in nature even if people are signed up with usernames.
I intend to keep it open and free to see because these types of subjects need to be discussed more often (imo) and by doing so in this way, we can eliminate social stigmas of talking about the divine and the mysterious and also pave the way to new understandings.
Thank you for the great review
