The thread you linked to was talking about the last post made and not the first post but maybe that is what you changed in your request. I was actually working on how to make the first post be different from the rest of the replies when I was helping another member here using the code here. That code was making the first post always be available no matter what page of replies you are on. Is that what you are looking for except just for certain boards? Anyway, what I did for the first post is make it have a different background color and a double border on the bottom here: Test site (Hold on, not showing in FF) <<fixed Is that something like what you'd be wanting because I tried putting just space below it and it really didn't make it look separate. And if that is what you are after, do you still want it only on certain boards? Edit: Actually using that code, all you have to do is edit the first post and add sticky to the edit reason and then that code will kick in so you don't need it for specific boards, actually. Anyway, I'm going to post a screen cap of what is working on Chrome so you can see if that is what you'd like so give me a sec. Meanwhile, I'll try to work out why it isn't working on FF. <<fixed

Yes, that is awesome and will work fine for what I need. Thank you. Where exactly do I need to put that code though?

Yes, that is awesome and will work fine for what I need. Thank you. Where exactly do I need to put that code though? Ulises says where to put it but it replaces what you have in your Post List Layout template. To get that kind of divide I have on that first post, you need to find this part.... (It'll be right around line 11 and right before where this is: <table role="grid"> ) <td class="$[post.thread.first_post.unblocked_class]">....and add some inline css (that was the problem before, it needed to be inline) so it's something like this: <td style="background-color:gray;border-bottom: 18px double green;margin-bottom:18px;" class="$[post.thread.first_post.unblocked_class]">
And just a reminder: To get that post to be on every page of replies, you need to edit the very first post and add "sticky" (without the quotes) in the Edit Reason (optional): input area. If you are still unsure, look at my screen cap or my test site and you'll see where I have "sticky". And I thought of something else. Not sure how you feel but on the first post on the first page of replies, up by the date it says "sticky" I didn't like that there but removing it breaks the likes for some reason so I just made it invisible: About at line 43 I add the blue: <span style="opacity:0.0;font-size;0px;">$[post.edited.reason] </span>
If you like it but want to change the style with css you can replace with your own css.

So in other words that neat little green colored border separating the first post from the replies is not included in Ulises code right?

Ok. I did it and it is working great. I even changed the color of the background and the border to match my theme. Thanks!

Hey Tumbleweed, I was wondering if there would be any way to only hide the mini profiles on the first post of the thread (only), but show them on the replies? Probably not, but I figured I would ask anyways.

Probably not, but I figured I would ask anyways. You sure you want to do that? No one would know who posted the first post but here ya go. I'm just having you add display none to the td tag so if you want it back, you just have to remove the red but for now, to test it, add the red: (around line 17) <td style="display:none;" class="left-panel" rowspan="2"> $[post.thread.first_post.created_by.miniprofile] </td> I have noticed something. Seems if that first post is liked and the page is refreshed, is shows {user} likes this but if I unlike and re-like, the actual name comes back. Might be just one of those things with this code. Considering this is something I never really thought would be easy to do (make the first post show on all reply pages-thanks Ulises) I feel that is a small bug.

Hey, that's awesome and that's not a bad bug at all I only wish it was board specific though because I wanted to make a certain board my site's main blog. That is why I wanted the top post to have no avatar and be separated from the replies. Of course I wanted the replies to show avatars and usernames so people could see who left a comment on my blog.

Oh, I didn't realize you were shooting for a blog like thing. But as long as you don't put sticky in the first post of a thread, all other threads and boards will act normal so maybe I'm confused exactly what you wanted.

I want the first post (top) in a thread to not display mini profile, but I want the replies in that thread to display mini profile. It has to be board specific though because I don't want all my boards to be like that.

I want the first post (top) in a thread to not display mini profile, but I want the replies in that thread to display mini profile. It has to be board specific though because I don't want all my boards to be like that. So let me get this clear, you want to be able to "stickie" some threads first posts and have the mini profile show and then others "stickied" and have the mini profile not show? If that's the case, I'm not sure how you'd do that. But just to be clear, what I gave you removes the mini-profile on the first post if stickied and nothing else.
