Variable for showing online staff names?

(I didn't know where to post this. Please move it if it's in the wrong sub-board.)

I've been digging through the various variable and loop trees on the home template trying to find a variable that shows the names of current online staff.

I wanted to set up a space in a sidebar showing these names so that members know they can message them and not have to wait for a response.

Here is an example of what I mean:




I'm hoping such a variable exists.

Hi, @seriously.

While we have template variables for online users these only exist in the Home template and will not display once you leave the homepage. These also render all online users as we don't provide any specifically for staff.

Ahhh, I see. That's fine. I'll just come up with an alternative then.

(Is there a way I could request something like this for a future update perhaps?)

I've labeled this as a feature request.

The most likely scenario is going to be that we'll still only load that data on essential pages, as previous feature requests related to loading this data have been rejected in the past on the basis of how much more load it places on the servers alongside what's already provided.
