I wanted to give my thoughts since Kami linked to a post I previously made.
My initial thoughts when seeing this board, is that it would be a great way to help people learn by not writing the full working solution for them. Obviously this depends on what the user is asking, because sometimes people just want a quick fix to a problem and be gone. I also thought that people who would be posting in this board, are people who are trying to write, improve, or understand some code, because we already have boards available for those that want things done for them, or support with an existing code that they didn't write.
In the case of my reply that was linked; My goal was to help the user learn what the issue was and how they could improve their code, and that was the impression I got from their post, they wanted to know why it was happening, and how to fix it. But they ignored the hints about the problem in their own code and jumped to using mine when it wasn't meant to be a replacement.
I said in my post, "but this board isn't for us to write your code for you", however I will word it more carefully in future so it represents my opinion about the board, and not a fact, as this is what I initially thought the board was all about.
