Proboards had briefly implemented this idea when it offered the feature in version 4.5 But since then the login system has been made a lot more secure and plugins have never been able to interact with that system anyway so any changes to that system would have to be made by Proboards. There's a possibility this can be accomplished on a paid (forums.net) forum using the single-signon feature but I've never personally seen it in action to offer anything other than a mention.
