Can we nuke the button altogether and keep things the way they are now ?? You can create a standard "Reply" or "New Thread" button if you so wish, sure. There will be a few differences however, mostly the WYSIWYG being new, and no need for it to load an additional page just to reply - it will just pop up from the bottom of the screen. Among other benefits, this would allow you to keep reading the thread while writing a reply, or quoting posts, not forcing you to leave the page so you can write a response - kinda like a quick reply that follows you around.

I don't mean to be the only cog in the wheel so far here ... but I'm just finding all this very complicated. I'm still trying to wrap my non-technical mind, around the last change you all mentioned, the V6 ... and now this.
Question though: On the forums.net sites, will they have to switch over to V6 as well?

This seems really cool and I'm looking forward to seeing all the new things live. I'm trying to hold off on designing themes for PB until the new version is out. Is there a way to get into alpha/beta testing before release?

One kind request. Make that navbar fixable. It overlaps the navtree even if I edit the CSS with position:fixed; I suggest that update.

Don't mind the floating but when not viewing window full size it and its associated menus seem a bit annoying / distracting located as they are.
Also not sure of this reply box covering everything!
First time I have looked / tried V6 so maybe doing something wrong.

I like it a lot! Reminds me of composing new email in Gmail. At the same time, I'm not a fan how the reply element covers the other posts.

Is it possible to not have it pop up from the bottom of the screen? I mean I can do it by messing with the css on the V6 theme so I'm guessing it is "possible" but will be an option?

Exactly the same as all other FAB buttons - the big orange circle in the bottom right corner of your screen. Click the big +, and the reply area will appear. The button never moves, it just has a different action depending on where you are. You can always hover over it (or tap it, if you are on a mobile device), and it will display a name for what it does.

Hello private We don't reply to posts, we reply to threads. In v6 the FAB allows us to do that, rather than having the big Reply button at the top or bottom of a thread. We can reply to a thread with the quote of a post. In v5 we use the Quote button. In v6 there is a Quote button at the bottom of the post you wish to quote. It looks like a quotation mark.
Does that help?

In v5 I am able to reply to a post without quoting. Clicking on that v5 reply button gives me the option to reply to that one selected post.
It would help if that FAB included the reply with quote. It would help if he FAB included the option to reply to a post.
