Hi, ProBoards forums generally don't need sitemaps to enhance their indexing for search engines. There is a post here explaining why. Hope that helps!

I have been reading a lot of things with SEO and they are saying site map and Mega data are key essentials to ranking and more traffic Indeed site maps can be important for that, but as outlined in Scott's post I linked to, ProBoards has a far better way of handling things that generates better SEO results. There are a lot of things built into your forum to enhance its SEO that you would otherwise have to worry about if you were running your own site, but ProBoards has taken care of them for you. Have you had a read through the ProBoards-specific SEO guide?

I want to also point out that I linked to the SEO article in the help guide yesterday. I read the entire thing already i just trying to ge tto the bottom of how everything works with SEO my forum already active im just looking for more signups and bette rrankings when i search on google or anyone for that matter. I am no longer going to respond in the other thread since you're posting in both places and it'd be redundant to post the information twice.
To be blunt, you are being impatient. It can take months, if not years to build up good SEO without a significant marketing budget.
You say in the other thread that the guide doesn't do much to help you, and respectfully, I think that is because you are looking for a solution that says, "Yes, you will increase your ranking if you follow steps 1, 2, 3." All anyone can reiterate is that you need viable, non-spam content on your forum for indexing bots to crawl, and non-spam links back to your forum (eg: through affiliation, having your link in your signature and being active on a forum so it appears in a lot of places, etc).
This is all outlined in the help article, but it is not a quick fix.

cessepedes17, Since your forum is still new and has an even newer custom domain, it will take some time for search bots to index your forum. The genre of your forum, sports, is a rather common subject. Content is what will make your forum stand out as well as visibility. Concentrate on good content for your forum. Also consider listing it in the Advertising Your Forum board as well as the Affiliate Exchange board. Having your forum's URL in places where the search bots see it (increased exposure) contributes to getting a better ranking. Don't forget you're competing against a lot of established sites, so patience.

I want to make sure that it's clear that what Scott has said here is absolutely no different than what I said previously, just a bit more concrete examples. I have already mentioned the need for content, and mentioned link backs via affiliations and the like. (:
Not to like, correct Scott or anything! Just that the information here does not contradict the information I originally provided.

Partially typing at the same time, as well as reinforcing what you've said.
