4. A stab in the dark regarding the width of the banner: I could, theoretically, make it overhang from the mini profile but that's more work than I'm willing to put in. However, you could change this line:
width: 100%;
to
width: 172px;
then add this after it:
margin-left: -11px;
See how that works for you.
Privacy was not the issue. I don't know how to change it all back to allowing for a Guest.
I'll try #4 and see what happens. Thanks!

I assume you forgot to refresh before posting and missed my reply? ;x Or perhaps missed (potential) solution #4?
Edit: Ah yes. Well for future reference that is in admin > settings > forum settings > login & registration (tab) > guests must login
Set that to no (:

This is basically what I was looking for, but I would love to see it continue on into developing the Wrap Around, whenever work and life permit that for you.

Hi Kami
Whenever you get some time, I need some help again.
There were too many things that needed to be changed after the Theme got messed up. Brain asked me to move on, so I started trying to do things by myself. I came to realize that there were way too many things that needed to be addressed to start asking for help in the Template area, so I reset the Theme to start over. I got frustrated with an effort, so I reset it again. This time, I have not altered anything but the codes for the Avatar Banners.
Code for the Avatar Banners is added or altered in three places:
1. Admin > Structure > Layout Templates, then "Mini Profile" 2. Admin > Themes > Advanced Styles & CSS, "Style Sheet" 3. Admin > Themes > Advanced Styles & CSS, "Visual Editor"
When I save work done in each of the three areas, I get two different results...
This means that any further attempts to make changes in the Visual Editor will upset the Avatar Banners.
When I say I reset the Theme, I mean that I clicked to set it back to Default in what I thought were all 3 areas, plus the Theme itself. But not everything was set to default. The code for the Banner Text of each Member Group was still there, so maybe everything just needs to be reset to default so I can actually start from fresh. Believe me when I say, I'm sorry for the trouble. When you have time for this, please let me know. I'll set the forum to allow Guests for you. When you say you are finished, I'll turn that Off again.
Thanks in advance,
Craig

Im off to bed but I will look into this tomorrow.
At a first glance there is no reason that changing anything in the visual editor will undo the stylesheet changes UNLESS you reset that section -- resetting the visual editor also resets the style sheet (the visual editor is just that: the visual interface. any changes made in the visual editor alters the preset components in the style sheet).
Keep in mind also that this works on a per-theme basis so if you have more than one theme you may need to double check the correct one was reset.
Additionally you may need to clear your browser cache to see any changes.

I think I fixed it.
I re-entered the code in Admin > Structure > Layout Templates, then "Mini Profile", as it was missing somehow, saved it and closed. But I was working in only one IE11 tab at a time this time.
Started making changes to things in the Visual Editor, and it would seem that as long as I stay away from the Mini Profile section in the Visual Editor, I can safely make adjustments. If something comes up again, I'll get back with you.
I only have one Theme now. I deleted the other one a few days ago.

You should be able to override changes in the visual editor with the !important declaration in the style sheet, like so:
font-family: something!important;
(obviously replace 'something' with a valid value, and 'font-family' with whatever property you're trying to modify).
NOTE: You cannot make the changes for the avatar banners in the visual editor. You can modify different aspects of the mini profiles, but this is limited to ONLY the values that come with ProBoards' default layout; so, the banners themselves are not part of what the visual editor effects; if you make changes only in the visual editor and do not add in the CSS I gave you to your stylesheet, it will show up as plain text in the mini-profile.

Hi,
I'm not sure how your post above applies, as I don't know what kinds of things could/should have !important after them. The Avatar Banners are working properly, but you have me quite curious as to the various possible applications for using !important. Or anything else that might be configurable in the Avatar Banner code.
Here's why. I came back here to ask a question.
IIRC, you told me that Member Groups that are set to Type = Private should work correctly with the Avatar Banners, and I think they are supposed to work with the Star/Post Count system as well. So every Member Group is set to Private now, whether they will get an Avatar Banner or not. The Avatar Banners worked before with the Star/Post Count, but I have not tested them much since resetting the theme.
I had only seen two Member Groups in action since resetting and rebuilding my theme yesterday and today, being the ones for Administrator (me), and Admin (the other two admins who are also Contest Organizers). These two groups have 5 red stars set because the post count is not a concern for us, or anyone in a Moderator status of any kind, except for people in a Mini Mod group. These will be people who are regular members with very limited Staff powers who will be able to assist Staff in particular threads only - as assigned (so they have Staff selected, but not Global).
In looking through things to see my new theme settings in action, I looked at the Member page and noticed that members in Groups were displaying the proper username color. To name just a few, Admin usernames and stars are red (and have 5 stars assigned), member stars are Sky Blue and their usernames are a normal blue link color, Supplier Member Group usernames and stars are green (and have 0 stars assigned).
I went to a thread where one of the Suppliers had made a post in a thread, and noticed that even though he has made 7 posts, and should have 2 stars now (which I thought would be green), there were no stars shown in his Mini Profile.
I doubt this has anything to do with the Avatar Banners, as the banner was displayed properly, so my question is related to the Member Groups system, which the Avatar Banners rely on.
Can you please tell me what could be done to enable the Star/Post Count system to display the selected star color for each non-Staff and non-Global Group, along with the proper number of stars based on the Member Ranks configuration? Suppliers have a color of green set in that Member Group, so they stand out in the Member list pages. They are non-Staff and non-Global. There are other Member Groups with the same configuration for other special member types. Do you think the Member Group "Color" column needs to be empty for these groups?
Thanks

We must be on wildly different time zones (or schedules haha) but I'm off to bed -- I'll be more than happy to reply to this in depth in the morning after my meetings. (:
The quick answer is HIDDEN groups work with post counts, but not avatar banners; private groups work with the banners but not post counts.
However you can change the private (NOT hidden) groups and the post counts to display anyway and I'll show you how tomorrow (:

My Time Zone is Central Standard Time (USA). My Schedule is... well, pretty much nonexistent. My sleep patterns have been erratic at best.
Thanks for the reply. You're the best!
EDIT #1: Forgot to ask if adjusting the "Private" Member Groups can be done on a per group-name basis. Only certain groups will have this applied. I shouldn't be using Hidden at all.
EDIT #2: On the Home page, just above the first board, on the left, a note says Welcome to the "forum name". Where might I edit that to make the font larger, and maybe bold? I've become very cautious about editing things that I'm not sure of.

Okay, so bear with me this is going to get long. You've got a bit of a habit of packing a dozen questions into one paragraph coupled with very long explanations, which isn't necessarily bad just tedious. ;x 1. I'm not sure how your post above applies, as I don't know what kinds of things could/should have !important after them. The Avatar Banners are working properly, but you have me quite curious as to the various possible applications for using !important. Or anything else that might be configurable in the Avatar Banner code.
This was in reference to you saying that altering content in the visual editor's "mini-profile" section would override any changes in the mini-profile you made in the stylesheet; if you use an !important declaration, the stylesheet gives that property the priority. So if you had: color: #ff0000; color: #00000!important;black would be selected to display for that property because of the !important declaration. As far as "what sorts of things" this can be used for, literally anything, though this goes back to you not knowing CSS. All !important does is designate a value as important, just like it says. I cannot give you a list of CSS this can be applied to, because it's literally anything. 2. IIRC, you told me that Member Groups that are set to Type = Private should work correctly with the Avatar Banners, and I think they are supposed to work with the Star/Post Count system as well.
Sorry, you're mistaken here. Let me clarify. - If you're targeting specific groups in the templates using an if statement (if X condition is fulfilled, y terms), then ANY group setting EXCEPT "hidden" will work. It all depends on whether or not you want people to be able to come and go at will (open) or petition to join (petition) or if you want only staff to be able to dictate membership (private). - The reason "hidden" doesn't work is because of what it says on the tin: the group is hidden, so for all intents and purposes there is nothing for the if statement to target. What I had previously told you was in regards to your hidden group, that you wanted to exclude from that specific board/thread -- using a "hidden" group will allow the post rank to still show, since again, it doesn't exist for all intents and purposes. - Post ranks and member groups, by default, are mutually exclusive. - HOWEVER you can change that (please refer to them as such from now on, as 'star count system' could also be applicable to member groups), it just requires a minor adjustment in the templates. 3. I went to a thread where one of the Suppliers had made a post in a thread, and noticed that even though he has made 7 posts, and should have 2 stars now (which I thought would be green), there were no stars shown in his Mini Profile.From the context of what you've said before, the reason for this is as I've described in #2 subpoint 3. You can fix it by using subpoint 4. 4. Forgot to ask if adjusting the "Private" Member Groups can be done on a per group-name basis. Only certain groups will have this applied. I shouldn't be using Hidden at all.
I need you to elaborate on this, because my first instinct is to say "of course" since each member group is always edited on a per-group basis. 5. On the Home page, just above the first board, on the left, a note says Welcome to the "forum name". Where might I edit that to make the font larger, and maybe bold? I've become very cautious about editing things that I'm not sure of.I am not going to say this again: one issue at a time. I am not upset, but I am beginning to be frustrated at the number of unrelated things you keep trying to squeeze in while you have my attention. From here on out, on this thread, anything unrelated to the Avatar Banners / Member Groups issues you're having will be ignored. If you have other questions, please follow the forum rules (and what you and I have discussed at length via PM) and have one topic per question.

This "minor adjustment in the templates" left the Avatar Banners intact, but it broke All of the Mini Profiles, Everywhere. It broke them in too many ways for me to describe, so please see these two threads, because they include posts from both regular members and people in Member Groups. The 2nd one is the Supplier I mentioned. He has Sky Blue stars instead of Green...

I've set Guest Access for you, so please let me know when you're finished. I don't want to leave it "open" for an extended period of time. You might recall from other posts that there's a very troublesome person who I don't need poking around.
Thanks
EDIT: This needs to be done on a per-group basis. That "code modification" is apparently Global. It would also seem to need modification itself, as it appears to target Guests.
