Is it possible to add a fourth option for the Info Center settings?
Currently, the choices are, Disabled, Everyone, Members.
Can Staff Only also be an option?
Thanks.

Thank you. And yes, see this thread.
I'm aware it's possible with a template change.
But since so many of the other permission options have "staff only" and even "custom" (plugins, theme viewing, etc.), it would seem more straightforward just to add another option rather than making template changes, since this is a common offering in most other permission options.

Ahh... I missed that. LOL. I guess you are aware of it already then! (I should have known you'd know about something like that, LOL)
There are lots of things that seem reasonable that TPTB don't want to make options though... I wish you well on this one, because I agree... it would be nice to have that as an option without having to edit every theme to get it.
The bad part about editing themes to do anything is you have to remember everything you did later when you want to add or create a new one. It's much better for things that are created as "options" to be simply added in as native (or at least on only one place and be active everywhere).

I actually thought "Staff Only" was an option and my answer in that thread would have been much different had I not checked! Otherwise, I would have referred them to that section of the admin panel, RichardInTN .
So it was that question that made me ask for this as a feature request. Having it as an option seems natural, since it's an option in so many other locations in the admin panel.
And thankfully, staff has been kind enough to mark this as a future request.
I think it will serve all non-coders well. It's a much simpler approach.
Thank you, guys!
As far as your theme analogy, I like how themes are set up. That's obvious with the number I have! If you like the coded aspects of a theme, and want to maintain its "guts", just copy that one, give it a new name, and then tweak it the way you want to make a second. It will maintain what you want it to maintain from the first, but also have the tweaks to give it a completely different look.

Where it becomes a big problem is people that don't self-create themes, but hunt for them or ask others to "build" them for them. They they have to remember every single tweak they've done to thier themes.

Perhaps, RichardInTN .
Since I self create all of my themes, I can't comment on that experience. I know what bits I've added, what they do, and if I want to keep a code or delete it for another theme.
As far as themes from the library, most creators don't want anyone to modiy what they've done. It's their copyrighted material, so they're not to be used as stepping stones for making a personal theme by tweaking their work.

Agree luv, would be easier if it were just an option. I asked about including it as one without even thinking it was something that needed added to the main software. The code works well if it doesn't get added anyway.

MythicCDXX , as you see, it was your question that made me ask for this.
I keep ours on public display, but I honestly thought the option was there. I'm glad I checked before replying to you.
It's just silly not to have it along with the other three options.
Template changes are great, when necessary. But this shouldn't be necessary given that "Staff Only" and "Custom" are already in various places throughout the admin panel.
